I actually prefer their barrel strength rye to this but I’ve been wanting one of these for a few years now

I’ll be doing my annual visit to my parents in VA and I’m hoping to stock up on this. Most of VA ABC stores have it, or at least they have in prior years

That barrel strength is very difficult to find.

I’m looking for a Weller 12, folks. Let me know what you need to make that happen, for those of you who have regular access.

Obviously not the $300-$350 it would take to buy it online. I was hoping someone with somewhat regular access at retail price would be willing to do it for a reasonable amount. Or for a trade.

Ya me too. There are some stores around me that have it at that high secondary price but I’d never pay that much.

    selling secondary for like 250-300

    then tax/shipping/broker fees

I don’t think anyone has regular access to Weller 12, even in Ohio

By regular access I don’t mean it’s on the shelf daily. There are places where it is available at retail frequently enough that someone here may have access. If not, I just don’t get any, easy enough. It’s only bourbon.

This may be the most delicious barrel proof / barrel strength that I can recall
In recent memory. So smooth and flavorful.

You get that tart note in there?

I get it in all WT and that specific note *makes* it for me.

It has a bit of a cherry note for me. It’s a complex flavor profile though. A little caramel or butterscotch? Peppery aftertaste but not hot. Some other things I can’t pick out.

I bought the regular 80 proof Penelope today and I must say that I'm pretty impressed.

Sitting outside, enjoying a nice evening when I notice thus big fucker backstroking in my Compass Box. Bastardo! I don't mind an occasional gnat, and will drink it down, but a freakin horsefly? No. What's with the red on it? Is it a flying black widow? Had to drain pour it. Sad. Reloaded with Oban 14.
