Both are real good. The Bonded will keep a spot in the cabinet based on flavor/ price/ proof. The JDSB Select i would recommend trying if you like the bonded. Little lower in proof but tasty none the less. I plan on trying the JD Single Barrel barrel proof next.

I almost pulled the trigger on the triple mash the other day and my liquor guy said not so much, stick with the bonded.

Everything I’ve ever read was that it was good, but overrated given the crazy demand.

Yes it’s a large liquor store chain. But now they added blantons to the grand reserve raffle/ lottery so you won’t see it on the shelf anymore.

That may be more accurate. It never seems to get the kind of review I'd expect $250 to get. Put it that way.

I wouldn’t call their offerings overrated, just overpriced. BT at retail is the best situation ever. There’s a reason it’s on every list of best bourbons under $50, usually at the top.

Can confirm. For sure it's a good bottle at retail, but it's nothing fancy. I honestly don't understand the FOMO surrounding those bottles.

I actually really really enjoy ETL.
The first time I had it was in a blind taste test with Weller A107, Blantons, John J Bowman SiB, and Knob 12.
    ETL was my favorite.

I've had it quite a few times since and have enjoyed it everytime I revisit it. There's a place I go for work in TX that has it for $12/pour and a local place to me that has it at $19/2 oz. I have it everytime I'm at either.
It might be my ladyfriend's favorite whiskey of all time - and she's had a pretty impressive list of whiskey's. Granted, she might not fully know what she's tasting but she does enjoy the hell out of ETL and bugs me on a bi-weekly occasion to open a bottle.

Would love to hear any prior experiences with Maker’s private selection. Have one available in my county now, one a county over, and two coming in next month in another adjacent county.
