Teeling single grain for about $50 is a great Irish whiskey.

Love the stuff - especially for the price.

It's outstanding in whiskey sours, too. Get some fresh lemons, make your own simple syrup, and give it a try!

    Compass Box Hedonism

It is a blend of grain whiskies and among my favorites across all types. It'll run you about $90-100.

I had a coworker who lived a wild life when she was younger. She decided to become Mormon... that lasted a short time before she decided to be a Jack Mormon (a Mormon who is not strictly observant). That didn't really stick either. She couldn't handle no alcohol or caffeine... I never did ask her about soaking

The area is beautiful! There’s sooo much to see and do and it’s all so close by.

As for LDS... the 2012 membership was about 6 million (see chart). Current pop of Utah is only 3 million.

I periodically stop by Total Wines and ask the people at the customer service counter if they have any interesting bourbon or Scotch back there. I learned they keep the unusual/rare/limited stuff hidden. This time they had a few bottles of High West A Midwinter Nights Dram rye. Apparently they do limited releases (called "Acts" - reference to plays/Shakespeare). It's a limited release of High West Rendezvous Rye finished in French oak port barrels.

I like Rye and their Rendezvous Rye is good, so I figured Why Not.

They had 7 bottles hidden. I saw an Act 1 bottle for sale on line for $400 (mine is an Act 6). Crazy. Maybe I should buy a few and store them!

Did a tasting this past Friday. Two different barrels of Rebel Yell 10, then a blind tasting of Noah's Mill, Russell's Reserve Single Barrel, and Old Granddad 114 (I ranked them in that order).

That was followed by open season :D

Each batch will be a little different, of course, but the ones I've had are great. I have a bottle from last year (Act 5). If you can get another and are willing to cost + ship, let me know :D

What’s that Delilah all about? Never seen it. I like the Sex Pistols style label.

It's a Limited Edition release from Compass Box celebrating the 25th Anniversary of a Chicago punk rock bar. It's delicious!

@bvbull200 - how do you like that Willet Pot Still reserve? I bought a bottle and just can't get myself to finish it; there is just something about it I really dislike. Cool looking bottle though.

Also, I just used up the last of my rub and will be ordering more tonight or tomorrow. Hoping to do some ribs soon.

Save for a few bottles the rest of us brought (I brought the Delilah's XXV and Fistful of Bourbon), that collection belongs to a buddy. I haven't had the Willet Pot Still, but I've heard numerous reviews similar to yours, so I'm not too worried about it .

Good timing on the rub order! Should have the cooking contest details posted soon :D.
