Bra. Vo. Loved this season so much. So many great parts in this episode. Too many to list but I'll chime in.

Oh... and 'Worst CGI of the Year' award goes to the first shot of Strand's yacht.

 

Dude, I was like WTF!! I hope they talk about why exactly he did that on Talking Dead. Was it because he wanted to take revenge on the people who didn't let him on by sabotaging the helicopter so it couldn't take off?

 

Maybe he knew he was gonna turn so he took himself out before he did.

 

Great finale! It was the episode everyone overly critical of the show has been waiting for. It was nonstop from the beginning and the flow of story and action was very well done. The finale contained so many great scenes, each with their own moment to cause an impact. One of the scenes for me, was Dr. Exner and how she was trying to talk the helo extraction into coming. The shots of the helicopter hovering and radioing back to her of the infected surrounding the area, and how they were discerning the situation was good. Eventually decided that it was too risky and left. The Dr. then tells Liza to go while she takes care of the remaining patients. Later, when they main cast is coming back through the facility they find her and all the patients with now dead by cattle hammer. They get the info on how to leave and she remains behind, ready to use the device on herself. Crazy! She would have been a huge asset to the group, I was hoping she would join them.

It ended well too. I anticipated a main cast member would be getting killed in the finale, and it was handled in a way to move the character development forward for Travis, and the group for that matter, and not leave us with a loose end. I really look forward to the next season and am anxious to see where they decide to go. I wonder if they try for an island like Catalina, an offshore oil platform, or head south to Mexico? I am actually excited to see what Kirkman and Erickson have in store for us. The zombie apocalypse from the point of view on the ocean will be cool to see. I read about it in some other novels, so it will nice to see a version of it played out in the TWD universe.

My friends in high school suckered me in to watch the newer version of Dawn of the Dead (I don't do fast zombies, they freak me out too much) and I believe the movie ended with the group finding a boat and sailing off to safety but then they arrived on an island where a zombie hoard was awaiting their arrival. I would imagine the story of Fear would take this path if they group thinks they can go somewhere else as if this isn't world wide already. They would just get somewhere else to see the same situation that they left.

 

I saw that sequel. It was kind of disappointing. Took place on a Scottish or Irish isle with a Hatfield/McCoy family drama playing out during the apocalypse. It was one of Romero's worst IMO. But it kept with the timeline of some of the characters. I actually really liked Diary of the Dead, which was the one before that.

 

I have a feeling he will try and put himself between Travis and Madison.

This one took place in US, mainly in a shopping mall. Zack Snyder directed it...

Oh, the Dawn of the Dead remake. Yes, in that movie they made it to the boat and only a few got on board. As the other sequels played out, the one that I thought you were talking about was Survival of the Dead.

 

Haven't watched the last 2 yet, sounds like its going to be exciting yet leave you wanting so much more just like TWD. at least the original series continues in 5 days!

 

I read an article that said the season premiere is going to feature more walkers in 1 episode than any episode before has and it wasn't just 1 more, it was like hundreds more. Sounds like they will be coming across a lot of hoards. Hopefully it's not just panning shots of them and actual interaction. Maybe Alexandria gets overtaken and everyone flees to the coast and they meet up with a yacht that just happens to be passing by...

 

Pretty good show so far. I still hate the junkie kid though. I liked the idea of the show taking place at the beginning of the outbreak and the city falling. The characters are pretty good though. Felt bad for the Doc, I was hoping shed stick around.

Im guessing they get the boat and take off somewhere next season. Id stock up on weapons and try to clear out something like Catalina island. Not sure why TWD crew never did that. Plenty of small islands in GA.

The GA crew hasn't done anything like that because they are loosely following the source material of the graphic novel, so they already have a path somewhat laid out for them. FWTD has no source material other than sharing the same universe as TWD, so their future is unwritten.

 

All 3 of those sound like they'd have cool storylines. I hope the writers have a field day with deciding where they end up going.
