I think that the shows being based on the same plot, but taking place at different places and that TWD is so far advanced, that some of the decisions that people on FTWD make seem illogical.

TWD is such a huge hit that it natural to compare them. I don't hear "die hard" TWD fans are trashing FTWD or "picking a side". I think it's fair to comment on an actor like Madison, who doesn't act very well, when most of the actors on TWD have made it the hit that it is. In the end FTWD will eventually stand or fall on how well the show does, regardless of the comparison to TWD.

 

LOL.....I was just thinking the same thing, like they travel to Georgia and as they are walking along, one of them sees Rick walking down the street after getting out of the hospital.

 

I think it would be much further down the timeline if they ever meet up. Rick wasn't in a coma that long for them to be able to go all the way around the country in their yacht...

I'd like to see them meet up closer to where Rick's group is now ~2-3 years from when it all began.

 

How much you wanna make a bet that when the " pirates " show up , they have music blaring a la Apocalypse Now ?

 

I would rather see both groups come together to defeat an evil group, like the The Saviors that are larger than either of them.

I don't see them being hostile to each other and their primary antagonists, but both groups combining forces to defeat an overwhelming force, would add a very cool dimension to the walking dead saga.

 

I agree, maybe they could meet in the middle, say have a Texas shoot out, or knowing Strand he has an airplane tucked away some where and could have a friend in Georgia with an ammo cache.

It does make you think, with the speed the other boat was closing in and the amount/size of the bullet holes in the capsized boat, that maybe this is a rogue coast guard boat. You think if they were coast guard, that they would be smart enough not to telegraph their location, by making noise just incase this yacht they are tracking has large armaments and are ready for a fight.

 

It sure looked like the other boat was shot up with a large caliber belt fed. From next weeks preview it looks to me like it will play out quickly like they usually do on the regular walking dead. The preview shows them on some side mission to the place on land. I'm guessing that happens after the meetup with the mystery boat.

 

Yeah I already said I think the pirates are either Coast Gaurd or on a stolen Coast Gaurd boat

I noticed in the show, they made a point to say the coast guard cannot assist in any rescue, so if the viewers do see a coast guard boat approaching, more than likely they don't have their best interests at heart or there to offer any help.

The preview also showed someone on the Yacht pointing an AK-47 in the face of someone(can't remember who, maybe Chris?).

Don't think coast guard is equipped with AKs...

...Could be a stolen Coast Guard boat though...

 

It wasn't an AK, it looked like an M14 or garand with a scope. Older military rifles like what the coast guard would probably have along with m4's.

 

OK, yeah it could be a stolen/hijack coast guard boat, which would explain not being trained enough, so as give away your location by playing music.

I still wonder why Nick made a point to grab the Yacht log, I don't think there would be enough information to make it worth it.

 

Watched again - you are correct. Although the scene I was referring to was actually a handgun while they had someone pinned down with it on their forehead...

Maybe I haven't been a member here long enough, but this is the first time I've ever seen the word "Prius" on any thread or any posting. Other than that you are talking apples and oranges, when comparing the TV shows to vehicles.
