    Features I wish it had:

    - Real shifter and linkage for the transfer case;

    - Higher clearance exhaust from the factory;

    Features I wish I didn't have to buy to get the bigger rearend/rear e-locker:

    - Crawl control.

    Honestly, since there's not another small, factory-built 4x4 I would buy outside of the Tacoma and our JK Rubicon, I wish the TRD Off Road package was a little more Rubicon-like (meaning, more off-road purpose built).

    Correct, and even if you don't have it set that way (I don't), You can set all doors to lock when gear changed from park and then when key is turned off, unlock all doors when driver door is opened. I have this setup and the ONLY issue I have ever experienced is when someone exits before me and can't get into the other doors. I just make it a habit to open my door even if I'm not getting out first.

    Spare Tire does not have a Sensor, last time the Tacoma had it in the Spare was around 2008-2009.

    No need to "guess" which tire is low... the info display shows all four on the ground - individually. Unless you're playing some sort of rotational roulette, it should be accurate. However, I do agree it should be a matching rim with TPMS.
    A lot of vehicles are moving away from having a spare altogether. I have always insisted on a full-sized spare in my vehicles as a 50 mile spare won't do much for me on a Sunday night in the rain on a 300 mile journey. What is even worse is that they put that tiny spare someplace obvious (sometimes the middle of the vehicle interior) with a well only suited for it. So the question becomes... where to put that nasty regular tire, since it can't go back into that spare area? Thank goodness that isn't an issue with the Tacoma.

    I get my fair share of flat tires too, would not want to be in any vehicle without one.

    Wish I would have gotten the sun roof. I had to wait 3 months just to get the DCLB in MGM.

    And leather seats. Been eying those clazzios.

    Up/down adjustability in the drivers seat, and a bit more pitch-up & extension of the steering wheel, and rear disc breaks round out my wish list. Other than that I think it’s a well thought out truck.

    I've heard the 3rd gen do not. My 2nd gen DID have a TPMS on the spare.

    Mods: Is this still a Tacoma?
    - Bi Xenon Projectors
    - LED Interior lights
    - Parking/Proximity Sensors on Front, not just rear
    - Auto lock/unlock Tailgate
    - Power Seats (at least for Limited)
    - Touch to enter door handles on ALL handles, not just driver for key-less entry trims
    - Remote Start
    - Seat that can at least even if manually be adjusted up/down

    Most of these including Homelink which my Limited came with, can be done mostly yourself after market or by someone capable, but the point is, why should it have to be that way. I guess they have to save a little bit to add for each year since the body isn't changing anytime soon.

    Spare TPMS was last in a Tacoma in 08 or 09.

    I might have mentioned this before but wouldn't it be cool if the rear window went down like the 4Runner. No support rails in the window. I'd give up a little storage space behind the rear seats to do that.

    Heated steering wheel current isn't available

    Based on the amount of information Android Auto is collecting, doesn't sound like Toyota is going to adopt that too soon, if ever. I had been holding out, but realized, it probably wasn't going to happen so I purchased my 3rd gen instead of waiting.
