Not POSITIVE but I think the Entune Plus at least is required. Do you have the rocker switch on the left side of your steering wheel? Can you attach you phone via Bluetooth?

SR not sr5 it is the least optioned taco, hell I don't even have intermittent wipers, if there is an option in head unit it must not have been useful because I don't remember it

Do the off-roads not have a sunglasses holder? My SR5 does. Sorry if this has been said somewhere.

Also.. I have a gas cap holder why were people asking for that?

Redline Tuning makes a kit for about $100. I think there may be a group buy going on, search the forum.

The automatic Off-Road have “Crawl-Control” which is located in the overhead console, displacing the sunglass holder. The manuals don’t have Crawl, so they retain the sunglass holder.

I had an aftermarket HU in my ‘16 and it could still change those settings.

An altimeter! Screw the pitch and roll angle I want to know how high up in the mts I am. And what if some people still use topo maps like me?

    ^^^this^^^

I was just driving a rental dodge 300 for a week and in the dash display you got digital oil pressure, oil temperature, transmission oil temp, battery voltage, coolant tempt, tire pressure, all in real time displayed values.

Got back in my Taco and thought “WTF?”. All of that info is in the Toyota system. Why Toyota didn’t give us a way to view it by putting a little extra code into the software running the display is beyond me. You shouldn’t really need to buy a scan-gauge to see this stuff.

Anyways......the lesson I learned is always buy Dodge. o_O

What head unit, and you didn't have to add anything to it to get to all the customizations?

The exact same languid performance that every 4-banger Toyota pickup offered, with big tires and armour, from the beginning of time, I would guess....

Kenwood DNX-573s. HU's don't just use wiring adaptors anymore, they need an interface box (iDataLink Mastreo) because of settings like those and steering wheel controls. Plus many vehicles don't even have an accessory power wire anymore as the turn on/off via the computer. I'm selling it actually.

Also that has a link to crutchfeild with more details.

Manuals have crawl control. It’s called 4lo, first gear, and your right foot. Seriously though, with 4lo in first gear the car will control speed up and down a hill so well, there is no need for crawl control. It’s always been one of the main benefits off-roading a manual over an automatic. You can be going down a 15 degree decline, let your foot off the gas, and the truck will come to a stop from engine braking. It’s super easy to control speed going up or down hill.
