Your wife’s corolla has led headlights, not hid, but yea even led headlights would be an improvement over halogen.

Ooo, I thought of two things that irk me and I can hop on the complaining band wagon...

    1) seat doesn’t go up/down ...

    2) volume thumb control is left/right and next track is up/down. That should be swapped. Plus when you have the screen on anything else up/down makes the selection go up/down, but if you have it on the track list up on the thumb pad dis next track so the selection on the screen goes down and previous track is down which causes the selection to go up. That is seriously retarded.

    3) oh ya one more thing, the wiper control, on every other Toyota I’ve had the marking on the stalk shows a longer line for the intermittent wiper that has a longer dwell time and for some reason on my 2016 Tacoma the longer dwell time has the shorter marking. ...

Agree on the wipers. At least it turns in the correct way. I'm still a bit thrown by the whole wiper implementation compared to all the other vehicles I have driven. Toyota: doing things different."

On the music control... notice you can't just control the receiver either? You can only go through your favorites. Anything else, you need to actually handle the actual receiver controls (thank god for the replacement nobs). Why they didn't use the left right options in the info display is odd to say the least (probably lazy). What is even worse is the sensitivity on those knob controls are pretty crazy.. I often jump whole selections because the increments are so overly tight/sensitive.

First time I used this I thought it had the shortest intermittent ever, then I realized they did it backwards for some reason.

hehe, since I don't think I have ever posted on this thread.

mostly VERY minor gripes since I knew what we were not getting since our 2012 didn't have them

    1. memory seats
    2. electric seats
    3. led headlights/fogs

after 2 yrs we resolved the issue by getting a 2018 Tundra Platinum Crew Max. the big issue was rear seat space for the times we had 3 GSP dogs in the back seat for hunting and or taking them out for exercise. (we don't put the dogs in the bed due to the single digit temps during hunting season).

the tundra resolved minor issues 1-3 above as a side benefit.

never had an issue with the engine/transmission after it was flashed via the TSB.

Sometimes I think 6th gear should be higher for better MPG, but then I hook onto my trailer and realize it's perfect. There's nothing like being in the passing lane with a 6x12 hooked to your butt and the truck acts like it wants more.

Hacking or cracking a phone while in use is easier than the head unit ( educated guess ). If so, it’s a security risk that Toyota isn’t willing to accept yet. Be happy that Toyota is paying for the massive data usage instead of you through your cell phone carrier.

What data usage? The only way the head unit can connect to the internet is through my cell phone...

Buy the homelink mirror on ebay. Takes literally 10 minutes to replace. $1000 at the dealer, but just under $300 on ebay.

    Stock.

This. You can really fly in reverse on the M/T. I mean it's kind of fun in some situations, but there's more times than not where I wish it wasn't so tall.

that's what 5th gear is for. 5th and 6th are too damn close, I always skip 5th.
