I liked my 08 Ranger b/c I could rat bagg on it and I didn't care about breaking it. I have to reduce my speed to only 70 km/h on forestry service roads. Those De-activation ditches sneak up on ya!

I miss the heated leather seats, command start and rear tuner from my '03 GMC heavy half crew 4X4. Don't miss feeding the 6L that powered it though....

The '97 was a smaller truck. Adding features doesn't add a whole lot of weight, especially when most of the "feature" is done by equipment already on the truck. Often it's just programming or a switch and an actuator to do the work.

They did make it too big. My 80/78 were beautifully small. Once they came out with an extended cab. It was perfect. Good thing they blew the tundra up to titan proportions so they are once again a different truck.
Not that I don't like the size of my T100..er .. I mean tacoma. I have a larger family now. But where's my mini truck. and now they're dumping the ranger too.

I just came to a Tacoma after having a Grand Cherokee. The Grand Cherokee had just about every do-dad possible. It took me awhile to decide if I'd rather get another GC or get a Tacoma, and one of the reasons was losing all the do-dads. In the end, I decided that the do-dads are cool, but being able to put my dirt bike in the back was cooler.

Another note: part of the reason I replaced the Grand Cherokee is because so many of the do-dads quit working - the auto door lock actuator in one of the doors stopped working, the actuator for the rear hatch stopped working, the heated seats stopped working. I hate having anything in the car that doesn't work properly.

My other car, which my wife drives so I guess it's her car is a 2009 ml 350. It basically does everything but give road head. To many gadgets, do we really need our asses cooled and heated? Apparently she does. More gadgets=more problems. Always amazes me that every time I go to the mb dealer fit service there is a line to get in, but no line to get in the showroom.
