Fed-Ex, I don't understand their system. They built a multi-million dollar facility 3 miles from my work not far from an airport where they built another multi-million dollar facility. Twice a package has gotten to the facility and then gone hundreds of miles away only to be delayed by days.

I ordered a phone case last week. It left CO, went to MO, went to TN, then to GA, then to Charlotte, NC which I figured it would leave Charlotte and come to Kernersville, nope, leaves Charlotte and goes to Concord and is then transferred to the USPS.

Why? How can they ship a small package for $6.99 and make that many stops then hand it to USPS? Did they find out they lost so much and decided to abandon delivery and hand it off to the USPS?

UPS has the best tracking, delivery, and customer service of any of them, USPS is iffy, Fed-Ex I don't even know what to say.

Here’s a map I made of package progress this week.

I agree that UPS is definitely better than FedEx!

    LOL!

Ive wondered if I was the only one. I had a check sent to me overnight from the next city over. It went north 500 miles, then came back. I’m about 3 miles from the place that sent me the check. :duh:

Fedex lost my headlights once that I was returning. How the hell do you lose a 3 foot tall box? Then when it was found there was only one headlight in the box. and the packaging was all torn apart

My wife gave me two trail cameras for Christmas, they were junk so we sent them back. 2 months later she got an email saying we were going to be charged for one of them if it wasn't returned. They were in the same box when we sent them back

UPS freight did lose a part we shipped from work once and it was a nightmare trying to get it straightened out. My boss takes pictures of everything we ship on a pallet for this reason. We had an 8' long pallet with several heavy parts strapped on it. They somehow lost one of the parts (about a $3,000 part) that weighed ~150 lbs. Now we ship Old Dominion freight and haven't had any problems.

I ordered a tool last week and the tracking said it would be delivered Saturday by fedex, checked the tracking Saturday and it hadn't even been picked up from SC. Later that night I checked it again and it had arrived in Knoxville, Tn but was undeliverable and delayed due to weather. I'm not that far from Knoxville and we definitely didn't have any weather issues Saturday, finally came in yesterday.

I've had stupid USPS take mail back to po and say no one was home to sign for a package when I was home and watched them not even attempt to come up the drive way and knock on the door.

I have wondered at the mails shipping rates at times. Just before new years last year I was mailing out a small envelope package, sending it first class with tracking to midwest or west coast can't remember now. Lady in front of me was in a panic needing to overnight a check to someone semi locally. Due to the holiday schedule her overnight package wouldn't arrive until friday that week (I think it was tuesday afternoon or maybe it was Wednesday which was NYE). I got up to the counter and when I looked at the receipt for the expected delivery date ... it was Friday! So I mailed a package first class across the country for $4 and she paid $30 something for overnight and they were to arrive the same day :duh:

Under 3% claims rate. Pretty much unheard of in the freight industry.
Anyways. I digress. Glad you aren’t having issues.

One more Fed-Ex complaint. My wife ordered a new phone last year and was expecting it. She heard Fed-Ex pull in our driveway, she's watching from the window, guy sits there for about a minute and drives off. Never got out of the truck. She checks tracking, it says nobody was home. She made a call and dude came back about an hour later and got out. I don't get it. If you don't want to do your job, find one you want to do.

I love it when they do that and then I show their boss my ring footage of them never getting out of the truck.

IMAO, best consistent delivery with FedEx, mostly due to our driver.

Spoke with him a couple minutes on first delivery, made a connection (his daughters compete in same sport as granddaughter). Ask about them every delivery. Speak to each other by name now. Called me when wasn't home for wheel delivery. Met me at convenience store half hour later because required signature.

It always comes down to people. HE is FedEx to me. Just like our 120 year old female dog in heat Postmaster is THE USPS in my eyes.

EDIT: Not that any driver could help anyone with the convoluted travel route in the OP.

I don’t how fedex does their shippping, but at UPS we pickup the package in Camarillo, bring it the center in Westlake, packages are loaded by zip into outbound trailers, packages are sent to the hub in Los Angeles, from there packages are routed to the closest hub that services the destination zip and are further sorted by zip codes that are serviced by the delivery center.

I can't explain that either. But UPS had the biggest screwup for us. Grandson needed a large SnapOn Toolbox shipped from Carson City, Nevada to Boise, Idaho for his Auto Technology classes at a local college. It ended up getting lost for three weeks, going to a few places in Texas and Colorado, when they finally tracked it down and then shipped it back to Carson City Nevada! Finally got it shipped to my grandson almost a month later. Other than that Both Fedex and UPS have been good. I do like the informed delivery with USPS better than the UPS and FEDEX tracking though.

Surcharge is to discourage shipping of large heavy items. The irregs are difficult to handle, take up a lot of room and get banged up easy or they damage the smaller packages.

FedEx is usually cheaper, but UPS a little better. USPS is great for smalls under 4 lbs.
