The problem with speed is that everyone thinks that they’re a good driver. Some are clearly not. These are the ones who change people’s lives...and not for the better.

    It's a secret
    OP Subject 1:
Nothing is wrong with the motor or transmission. The engine is taken from the Lexus RX SUV, and Camry. The three vehicles share the same mid-high/redline rpm ideal range torque producing motor. It is matched with a transmission that takes advantage of engine speed rpm to match torque needed to accelerate and maintain speed which by design is between 3.4k rpms to redline or 4.4k rpms with full open throttle. It can sometimes make a person feel uneasy hearing a vehicle's motor growl at higher rpms and presume something is wrong; but in the case of our Tacos, it's perfectly fine and safe. The engine/torque converter/tranny actually works more efficiently under load when it is provided with the mid-high rpms in order to produce the required ft.lbs.torque as opposed to a fuel dump on low rpms...also a fun fact, throttle feathering at +3k rpms on S3-S4 still yields good mpg while allowing one to need only to lightly tap on gas to accelerate faster from a roll.

    Subject 2:
What I think matters most with speed is if one drives at the average U.S. Highway/Freeway speed of 65mph (+/- 10mph) subject person ought to drive on the right-most lane to keep the passing left-lanes available for speedier drivers to overtake more safely...

I have a 2019 Cement Access Cab and love it...only because it is a 3rd vehicle and I never have to take it on the highway...does fine going to Home Depot, off-road. etc. But the few times I've had it on the highway (Interstate running 75 - 80), it is terrible...constantly downshifting on the SLIGHTEST grade. I had a 2014 4-cylinder and it was literally 10 times better on the highway. The transmission on the 3rd gen. is just terrible. Like I said, as a 3rd car, it's fine, but if it had to be my daily driver, I would trade it immediately.

There are also the nit-picking fault-finders, who just can't admit that 99% of owners are satisfied with the performance of the truck. :deadhorse:

I received the set, and watched the first one yesterday. I still enjoy it as much as I did in 1985. :)
