I've been popping on here every so often. Been working in the field a bunch recently though and I hate using TW on my phone so I've been a little scarce. "Finished" the farmhouse and moved in about 4 weeks ago. Still, tons to do that's keeping me busy, but it's nice to be moved in. Truck's still stock.......for now . I've got parts piling up though.

Hope you've been good. Any luck on the job hunt yet? I read you had a few interviews?

O now you do a video... I put in the HD version a few weeks back when I was installing my alpine halo9 . I switched my ball to the bottom. I'm kind of regretting the HD part . It took some extra trimming to work with the Metra kit and now I have to take it all back out to plug up the camera I ordered. Nice video! I may have to pick up that baofang mount and bigger knobs!!

Thanks man! I probably won't install that HD bracket as the Tech Deck feels really secure even without it.

Nothing big but swapped some non stainless for stainless steel hardware on my hi-lift jack brackets. I thought I got all stainless last time but obviously I was mistaken.

With the tablet you will probably want it. If you go to places like AOAA and Potts still that bouncing around the 6 screws in the plastic are only so strong.

I'll see how it does next time I'm on a bouncy trail, but I'm more of a slow crawler.

Just the dropping off of rocks and stuff made me have to mess around with my mounting to keep the stress down. Sent you 3 files
    What's the fun in that!
This was the 2nd run I made first was faster and didn't loose traction.

Do you have a heavy tablet? I have the samsung tab A 8" which is pretty light and with the balls out offroad mount (which just mounts with two screws into a backing plate) it's rock solid.

I have the Magellin TRX7. It's fairly heavy possibly heavier than your tablet and have the same mounts as you. My point is the sandwiching I think is stronger than just the screws since it would have to rip the whole backing plate out vs just tearing the plastic. Plus the further away you mount them and the higher the more leverage it has on the mounts. The tec deck having the ball mounts away and higher to begin with seems like that could potentially have more leverage forces on the plastics and screws eventually possibly cracking the plastic or making the screws wallow out.

I saw someone on here make backing plates for the sides of their HD tec deck and use the backing for the top mounting area as well. That seems extremely sturdy and overkill but pretty sweet.

Yeah that makes a lot of sense. The extra backing plate from the HD would help with the tablet since it's basically a long lever arm. That'd keep it from pulling forward and put less stress on the screws.

No that's a new park in SC Greenville-Pickens Motorsports complex. There are some harder hills around the corner from that one.
