Got my swivel license plate bracket mounted on the new bumper. Originally I was going to mount it directly to the tailgate like @EatSleepTacos , but figured I try this less extreme route first and see how it works.

I like your tail-gate flat panel but man it's hard for me to justify spending that much on a flat piece of metal. Think I'm gonna try making my own.

I looked around a bit but couldn't find any 3'x5' pieces of either aluminum or steel at a decent price point to make the panel out of, but you might have better luck.

Stupid question, but doesn't the aspect of adding in a DANA 60 axle make the truck "for offroad use only?" I know that there are a number of things that we do add to our vehicles that are "for off-road use only" but having something that is going to be used all the time and not something that you can shut off like, "LED light bars," be illegal to drive on the roads in some way? the reason why I am asking this, was because I was looking into the possible price and build of a DANA 60 rear axle through ECGS and they specifically note that it is for off-road use only.

 

It's probably just a "cover our ass" type deal but I'm sure in some regards, it is "off-road use only". I'm sure that varies by state law and if it would ever actually be enforced. I know of quite a few people on here who have swapped out a rear axle and still have their truck registered and drive it on the roads.

 

Yeah it probably depends on what state you live in and the particular cop pulling you over.
