I recently installed a spindle lift on my Tacoma. I came from a 3 inch spacer lift and I can tell you that the ride quality is drastically improved additionally getting it within the alignment specs was no problem for the Techs.

My father, 80 years old (God bless him), wants to level out HIS Tacoma with a 1.5" spacer. My question is, will the ride quality suffer that much after installing the 1.5 spacer? I know it won't be as bad as the 3 inch spacer, but wanted to hear what TW had to say. Additionally, does anyone foresee any problems getting the alignment within specifications with a 1.5" spacer?

I would appreciate any feedback and my Father would certainly appreciate having a "lift" (wink wink) on his truck so you can brag to his buddies in his coffee group.

I run a 3in spacer as of now, just cause waiting on other parts. If you feel the 3in is a better ride than stock, then 1.5in is going to be perfectly fine. Don't think you truly will need to adjust alignment specs that much at all. Make the man happy, he deserves it!

Just make sure you get a metal spacer, not a rubber one. I have a 2"-2.5" metal one on mine and you wouldn't know the difference between stock.

He could also go to Bilstein 5100s and go up a notch and it should ride leveled without worrying about damaging the shock from spacers.

lol it's funny that you mention that. Ever since I bought the truck, I never got it aligned. It pulls to the right a little but I've beaten the living hell out of it offroad. I believe when I first got it, it was aligned perfectly with no issues at all.

I'm wanting to just do the alignment after I replace all my suspension so I don't have to pay for it twice.

No. It will be the EXACT same alignment specs you would/could get with the 5100's or with King Coilovers. There won't be any issue with the alignment as long as they actually adjust the caster and camber.
