When I talked to Audio Control, they said the best way to test the LCxi unit would be to disconnect the inputs to it and if the buzzing was still there, it was a defective unit. If someone installed it for you though then you're probably doing the right thing by letting them handle it!

Just chassis grounded the head unit as well, still getting the buzz. I thought I fixed it at first, as right at startup I did not hear any noise. Over the course of 5-10 seconds the buzz slowly increased in volume until it reached its usual level. Not sure if it helps at all, but if I had to guess the noise is in the 4-6khz range.

I ohmed the speaker wires and none of them are grounded out, so I can cross those two off my list. Will do some more reading and try again tomorrow, maybe putting a resistor before the LC2i to simulate the factory speaker.

Picked up another set of RCA's today and ran them from LC2i to amp, well away from any other wires or motors to eliminate possibility of noise transfer through the RCA's. Still getting the noise. Read about people having some issues with AccuBass on the LC2i's with later model head units, will look into that when I get home and if that doesn't yield anything I'll try the 4ohm resistors between the HU and LC2i.

Pretty sure I figured it out, it's always the simple things that I overlook :bananadead: Audio Control's "AccuBass" feature is meant to restore bass to systems that 'roll it off' as the volume goes up. There is an AccuBass level knob on top of the unit, and on the side of the unit there is a hole for a micro screwdriver that adjusts the threshold that AccuBass kicks in at. Mine came with the threshold turned to the highest setting (all the way right), so if I understand correctly it was immediately trying to boost the bass even at low volume levels, giving me a bunch of feedback and the buzzing noise.

glad you got it figured out!

I took mine into the guys who installed it Friday to have it looked at. At first they thought faulty components, so they replaced the amp first, then the LC6i. neither of those fixed it, and they eventually figured out it was a bad RCA cable, so they replaced that and all is well finally!
