Hey all - just looking for some feedback and advice. I have the OVtune on my 17’ trd sport. I also have a ECT always on module in my garage I can add. Does anyone have both on their Tacoma? Does having both work against each other with the mapping of the tune etc??

The tune (depending on your specific variant) can increase the settings mapped to the ECT button over stock. Having the ECT module just means it's defaulting to ON for those higher maps. The module it's just asking the ECU to use what the tune has defined.

As a past OVTune and ECT On driver I highly recommend a KDMAX Pro tune for your truck....ECT is there if needed but that current tunes are so much more evolved that using ECT and a crutch to improve the truck is not needed for normal driving any longer.

    Check build thread!
I’m running OV Tune right now- have also run a valley runner tune in the past. I can almost for certain say that the minute you get tuned you won’t want the ECT on all the time. It fixes the truck completely.

Thanks- I am actually OVtuned right now. Was wondering if the ECT module mod would add, subtract or be a moot point to the existing tune.

The module does nothing but engage the trucks ECT mode. The trucks ECT mode is defined by the tune (OVTune in your case) and you can manually push the ECT button right now and test the difference.
