As the title states, I would like to know if anyone is interested in purchasing a 28 pin adapter that connects truck wiring harness to the factory head unit. I am purchasing a few for a project, but can get a bit cheaper in bulk. There are a couple different uses for this (that I can think of). I found these online for $25 each with all black wires. The ones I will be purchasing will have different color coded wires for each pin. The OAL is 30cm. All 28 slots will be wired. Many will be unused and may be removed or left in place without interference.

-Allows connection of aftermarket HU without splicing into the factory 28 pin harness
-Allows splicing into speed sense and reverse signal wiring without damaging factory harness

Is this the harness needed to put a 2012+ Radio in a pre-2012 Tacoma? Or is it just for 2012+ Tacomas that are upgrading?

For 11- installation, this harness could be cut in half and used a s pigtail for the 28 pin socket on the back of the 12+ unit. This would just fill the needs of a single socket, there are others that would need adapted as well.(there are still slight fitment issues with this modification that can be found with a search)

For 12+ vehicles upgrading to non factory HU, you would cut this and attach the end to the factory harness. the loose ends would then be connected to the non factory unit pigtail. This is not a complete solution as there are other plugs/functions to be accounted for, but it would prevent having to modify the existing 28 pin harness.

For the purpose of my project, I only wanted access to the speed sense and reverse signal wiring to create a (easily reversible with no modification of existing wiring)plug and play solution for editing nav addresses and viewing my tow while driving or parked.

Interested. Doesn't seem like this is going anywhere fast, but could you send me the link of the harness?
