Copied from the linked thread to keep it simple over here. Looks pretty awesome to me...

I think one of the big appeals to me is how it looks aesthetically, not being out of place, and tight fitting around the softopper. I would hope it would fit the besttop as is or else they may have to change the design to accommodate both, which may adversely effect the aesthetics.

Will be another interesting thing to find out.

All- Pro sells their pack rack online for second gen model years, but these pictures that @twistedaxle22 shared (thank you very much you rock!) are on a third gen so I'm assuming 16-17 are compatible too. I have no idea if this will work on a first gen bed I'll let @allpro answer that one.

Each picture I see makes me want one more and more thank you for sharing. Do you know how easy/difficult is it to fold down the softopper with the rack over it?

I really like how tight it is to the topper, however, I plan on using it to mount a RTT, so how tight it is also concerns me.:goingcrazy:

I came across these pics when I was researching pack racks that fit over my bestop. I still don't know if the AP pack rack fits. If not I hope they make one for all of us with bestops!

SOS Offroad Concepts makes one specifically for the Bestop and it sits much higher than the AP rack. It's on their website I'd link it but I'm on my phone running errands.

I get where you're coming from. Also be mindful of the fact that the higher your tent is over the bed, the more wind it will catch and raise your center of gravity if you get off camber on a trail. That said, I think there will be plenty of mounting room for a RTT, might have to trim the mounting bolts a little and tighten the topper straps closer to the bed though.

First post! I'd be in for a rack over the Softopper.

Had a lovely weekend. Spent a lot of time researching RTT's last night. If I do get one I think I'll go with a Tepui Ayer. It only me +1 so I don't need a huge tent up there and my dog sleeps on the back seats. Guy with the rack on craigslist never responded so it looks like I'm in for this depending on price. Hoping it's going to be somewhere around $600
