I appreciate all the conversations here folks, but I think it's time to retire this idea. I've decided to keep the Taco. It's just been in the family too long, saved my bacon too many times & almost feels like an appendage. And after scouring the car & truck market for at least a year, I've realized that I almost have the perfect vehicle already.

    /\ updated /\

I kinda want to keep this truck, but it's not practical for me at the moment. Body is mostly good - some hail damage, but paint is mostly solid & no body rust, frame is good - Colorado surface rust. Daily driver.

5 speed, great interior condition (best seats I've ever seen on a 200k Taco), just over 200k on the drivetrain. Runs like a Swiss train. Purrs like a kitten. However you wanna say it. It just confidently delivers day after day after day.

Truck is sound-deadened for the most part - can come with too much stereo; otherwise will come with some extra wiring.

Paint-matched cap is wearing, bedliner is a bit chipped from use; lots of little things that could use a little tweak. It has lived a truck life, but the last 5 years it has been garaged. Gen4 4R wheels with TPMS (no monitor). Needs front brakes (parts come with sale). Windscreen is cracked. And then some. It is 22 years old.

I'll go take some pics if there's any interest. Rear wall has been tastefully replaced by plywood and carpet. Rear OEM furniture comes with sale.

Trades make things easier, but cash is good too. You'll need to come get it in Colorado. Or, like the title suggests, trade for something comfy. Bonus points for something cool.

Throwing up a couple quick & dirty photos since there was some interest this weekend. I'll take some more once I get it cleaned up & ready to sell, but here's how it sits today.

I haven't gotten that far. Going rate for these seems to be around $15k, so maybe somewhere in that range? It'll also depend on what I do with the stereo. If I go ahead & buy something first, it'll come out & I'll stick all the stock stuff back in - as well as reinstall the rear furniture.

We need an actual price as we don’t allow feelers. Is 15k what you are actually asking?

I don't know. I was looking for a trade as much as anything. Nuke it if you need to. I'll just post again once I get it ready.

Did those work? Still haven't had a chance to clean everything up, but as she sits today. Had a few requests for interior pics, so here's some quick & dirty

Seats look better than the pics imply - this phone cam gets creative with shadows. Makes rust look more prominent too.

I’ll trade you two 00’s Toyotas for this one :notsure:. One is a 02 Avalon XLS (166k) that runs great, was garage kept its whole life, has leather interior, and is pristine besides some buggy dings. The other is my project Taco, an 03 4x4 reg cab stick shift (295k mi) on a recall frame and two patches of body rust. It doesn't currently run (its electrical; the rest of the drivetrain is fine). Both are southern vehicles.

Between the two of them, one is cool and the other is comfy lol

totally fair. Hope this feeler thread helped you love what you already have. These trucks are weird things. I think they become vessels for lots of feelings, which is honestly convenient considering how annoying/difficult feelings can be
