Total chaos UCAs, 265/75-16s, BAK rollback tonneau, custom lights and rack.
Zach I want to say thanks again for my rails, I got them today, they are awesome!! Anyone who is on the fence with these racks or rails, jump off now. They look even better in person and they are shipped fast and very much UPS proof. Stay tuned for pics of this rack with integrated 58 inch Yakima cross bars, and a 40 inch light bar. Maybe even a couple of whitewater kayaks.

^If you have round lights on this, there wouldn't be a wind deflector, they would just sit on the roof...I'm planning on either 4-5 big HID's up there...ORRRR a Radius bar...I've heard good things about those...but we'll see. HID's just have so much more length at the moment and are much more cost effective...I think once LED technology comes up (probably within the year) HID's really will be a thing of the past.

That does look great, Cesar. So, the weather stripping has to be removed for installation?

Thanks man! I removed the weather stripping but when I have more time I'm going to try and drill holes thru them. But I have fix my screw up first my holes on the rack don't line up the trucks. Then use some silicone on the moldings and bolt holes.

Anyone following this thread that has any interest in aluminum rails. I am going to be having some stuff cut for another project tomorrow and have space on the sheet for a few sets of rails. If you are interested I will do be doing a significant discount for anyone who wants. Price will be 200.00 per set of rails. Hardware if wanted will be extra.

I will be shipping it out either tomorrow or saturday and will PM you the shipping info when it leaves. Sorry for the delay. I planned on having more time during the week to get things done with these and have been limited to getting stuff done on the weekend.

I'm really interested. One of my gaskets for the roof flew off so Im looking for a rack to fill the void. I have the shark fin on my 2012. Will your rack fit? If not I'll probably just get the rails.

The rack can be adjusted for shark fin antennas. I have one built for brinner and sent a kit to gdawg and both accomodate the sharkfin.

To everyone following this thread. Interest in an aluminum version without the ability to weld aluminum has led me to reconsider construction methods and work on something that is completely aluminum and completely bolt together and modular for customers. I have ordered materials for a prototype and will hopefully be able to put it together next week. I don't have pricing yet and won't until the the finished rack is done and installed. Once I have pricing and the prototype is done I will probably do a group buy to bring down prices if there is enough interest. Some of the details are:

    1/4" Aluminum rails
The rails will have a slot that runs the entire length that will allow cross members to be
bolted in at any location. This will also allow the user to chose the number of cross
bars they need. (Essentially you could have a full floor if desired.)

80/20 #1575 Aluminum Extrusion with T-Slot for Crossmembers
The rails will be redesigned so that all cross bars are the same length. Every crossbar
will be removable and movable depending on the use. The t-slot on each crossbar
also provides ways to add tie-down points wherever and options to bolt down
    permanent items to the roof.

I am also having rails cut for a topper rack. I designed mine so that the crossbars are the same width as on the topper so the crossbars are interchangeable between the two racks.

I have a major distributer of 80/20 and tslots near my house which makes it easy for me to offer the crossbars and put together kits. However, the material is readily available in most areas making it easy for users to buy their own crossbars or to order more as they see they need it. I am not planning on marking up prices on the crossbars at all so whether you order them or I order them it should be the same price. Really the idea to use this extrusion goes to the great people on this forum so thanks everyone for participating in this thread.

Keep an eye open for pictures and details of the rack next week. If you want to hop onboard and have yours built with the prototype then send me a PM. The look of the rack won't change much, only the way it is assembled and the materials.
