Got some work done on these this weekend. To everyone who has ordered kits or rails, I will be shipping them out on monday. The three who have ordered full racks, they are almost all welded together and I will be cleaning them up today and monday so they should ship, or be ready for pickup next week.

I really like this concept, but already have yak bars from a previous vehicle, and just bought a TracRac bed rack. Would you consider engineering something that mounts securely to the existing front bolt holes, but then just provides a clean, low profile attach point for Yakima or even Thule towers?

I think even the fake gutter mounts could work with what you have, but it wouldn't even need to be a full rail, just front and back (or just front for me, added to the TracRac).... The spacing of back-of-bed, front-of-bed, front-of-cab works great for hang gliders...

Just thinking that acting as an adapter that would translate the bolt holes to a standard yak or Thule part like what they make for Subaru.

I'm very interested in a set of steel side rails only. I have been looking for something like this for years. I'm going to modify them slightly to accept a set of Thule crossbars and a light bar. PM me with a way to pay you for them and the shipping and let's get it going. I'm ready at anytime, I'll be waiting. Thanks.

I am not sure I understand exactly which thule/yakima parts you have. Email me a picture of what you have and I can try and figure a way to adapt them so you can use them for the Tacoma.

    Subbed for future reference...

These look great! I love the price point - the frontrunner setups are nice but the pricetag seemed a bit too steep for what you get. I've seen them in person too.

Do you think you'd be able to provide a fully assembled aluminum product in the future? That's what I'd be interested in.

Fully Aluminum, I could probably offer one now but I don't know about the price because I would have to have a local shop do the welding. One day I may be able to purchase a welder that will handle aluminum but that day is probably pretty far off.

OK - good to know.

I'd also be interested in a rack to attach to the Thule rails on my Leer 100XQ. The stock Thule cross rails sit a bit too high for my liking with my RTT mounted. I'd like to drop the setup down another 2" or so.

I am in this same boat. I thought I liked the thule rack on my snugtop until I hauled some steel the other day and saw how the bars bent under little weight. I want something beefier and lower so I can cary my RTT up there too. I will check on some prices of having an aluminum kit welded up.

I'm interested as well. As someone said, there seem to be a lot of deals going on, so I need to make a list and prioritize my spending. At this rate, I could spend $3-5k on mods before I make the first payment. :-/

As far as a rack for the topper goes. I will all just depend on when someone wants to take the plunge and get one. I would like to build one for my truck but don't have the funds right now to do so. I am willing to build one for anyone at anytime, but it may be awhile before I build one for my personal truck.
