Katzkin's? Curious how you like the cooling option if you have it.

While I was blacking out the pieces, I decided to install the 2012-2014 hazard/clock piece on my 2015. I followed the instructions that I saw in the forums but the clock keeps resetting to 1:00. Is there something I'm doing wrong?

Are the two wires you added backwards? Somehow you're missing constant power for the clock to keep it's memory.

Problem solved. Turns out the positap I was using didn't pierce the constant power. I switched to a smaller positap and it works now. Thanks!

Ah that makes perfect sense. Glad you got it working and now can enjoy a more functional hazard switch assembly!

Edit: this is also why I love having a multi meter haha

Spoke to my dad, who is an electrician, and from what he understood I want/need to do as far as the wiring for the Hilux switch to light up (mind you I'm Portuguese so things may have been lost in translation), using a t-tap connector you don't need to cut any wires light the pic thread that shows how to do it all has.

Correct. A t tap connector simply puts a split in the insulation of the wire that allows the metal spade to connect.

Hot dawg! This is shaping up to be a lot easier than I expected then! Pops hooked me up with some wire (since he obviously has a bunch being an electrician) so I can extend the terminal repair kit wire thing, hooked me up with the part that will connect to the t-tap connector, and just didn't give me the but connectors and t-taps because he didn't have any. Gotta run out and get those and then I'll have everything I need to at least switch out the ac vents panel pc and leave the opening all set for the new 4x4 switch!

So for anyone installing the Hilux switch in a 2015 the wiring has changed. The new wiring is pictured below. It'll be the same method of connecting to it, just different wires. It's the black plug behind the AC panel.

Connect to the solid green and the white with black tracer.

Installed my kit today and I'm really digging the outcome; almost everything went perfect
    ...
until I got to replacing the radio bezel, which has different tabs than my original (those long central bits are tiny tabs on the corners for my stock '13-bezel, for a head unit labeled Jul 2012)

    2vshiq1_5e2b46395729f469f7ca758f3be4cbc22a4cd0e0.jpg
these tabs seem too central, they barely straddle the dials, and there's some space the pwr/vol/tun/scrol buttons still need for the frame to fit over.

My thinking is I can cut the big tabs off and, praying the head/face fits into the bezel nicely, simply bolt the radio back in and snap the bezel over separately.

I could also go back to the stock bezel, but that would be admitting defeat and sad, possibly more sad than leaving the guts hanging 'till I figure out a solution.

I'll probably go try replacing everything with the stock bezel just to make sure it buttons up :(

    Any experience/suggestions?

old on bottom, new on top

without the tabs they might be a pretty close fit . . .

**Edt; installed the original just to make sure everything closes up and it still looks good :) **

Anybody on the fence needs to jump on it. I don't have pics sadly, and I did not buy the parts mentioned here but I swapped my silver radio and surround for used black 2012 counterparts and plasti dipped my AC controls while I work on the 2012 solution

And MAN does it look better! I should have done this in 2012! It seriously complements the BSP hood and really brings the dash and doors together. I was never a fan of blacking everything out but now the truck feels like the Batmobile, and I am seeing why people paint their cluster rings.

    Summary: Do buy.

Is there a black steering column controls for the 2012?

AFAIK the same parts are used for the 2011-13s (and probably some more years too)

The wheel controls I removed looked a little different since they had less buttons (only volume +- Left and phone up/down right, now i have volume+menu controls left and more phone stuff right) but the new ones fit right in smooth and nice.

Looks good to feel good or whatever they say!
