Shit bolted onto other shit, and junk.
I went to Joann's Fabrics and bought darker felt and then recovered the headliner, A, B, and C pillars. I hate the light grey.

I know right? I dont know why Toyota never gave the 2nd gen black interior.

When I bought my truck 95% of the vehicles were grey interior while only a select few SR5 packages came with tan interior

Nice!! If i went there I would be there for hours...my wife would not want to leave there and since it's out of town I'm sure she'd swindle her way to go with me. haha What did you do about the handles on the A-Pillars?

I'm assuming you used 3rd gen visors?

I thought about using SEM dye for the headliner but didn't know about the pillars. For me that is more visually important than the other blacked out pieces on the dash at this time. Really makes a differnece in my buddies 3rd gen vs my 2nd gen.

Years ago I had an 82 GMC S-15 pickup, that I dropped to the ground and re-did the entire interior in black.
I had a local interior shop resew the sun visors and they also made me a new headliner. I dyed the rest of the interior from a poop brown to black.
I will tell you now, preparation is 95% of the work. The pieces have to be 110% clean so you can dye them correctly.

You could plastidip the a pillar trim. That way you can always peel it off of you ever want to go back to the oem color

I'm thinking the 3rd gen visors might bolt up, that would be one less thing to not have to mess with. I would assume that many of the 3rd gen interior items would fit (minus dash stuff of course) because the cab isn't that much of a different design. I'm just going off visuals though, not that I have torn into a 3rd gen.

I haven't done the dye on plastics, I'm wondering how it would hold up on the grab handles. I use the grab handle when I get in so that would be my only concern. I have learned in my years that prep is absolutely crucial for everything....it took me way too long to figure that out though.

I haven't started on any of the interior mods to black out anything. Just trying to get things lined up for when I go for it.

3rd gen visors have different electrical plugs vs 2nd gen though

I'm not too worried about the connector, I can splice the old connector on the new visor.

It's still available. I bought a number of parts recently. So far the bestvorices I found are from McGeorge Toyota.

Does anybody know if the follow parts are compatible for a 2005 X-Runner? The McGeorge websites indicates that they are not compatible. However I find it hard to believe that Toyota would make a separate trim SKU for the X-Runner.
    • A/C bezel 55412-04050
    • Radio surround - matte black (55421-04050)

I got mine straight from my local dealer (A1 Toyota). Wasn't too expensive.

I think I paid around $200 for all three parts.. It was a while ago and I don't have the receipts.
Did you double check the part numbers on the first page of this thread? Maybe get them online?

Every dealer will charge different prices. I shopped around before buying.

Dealer will say it doesn't fit only because their database knows that 2015 parts were never available on a 2005 for example. And it's not their responsibility to see of a new year model part fits an older year model. You have to see what peoples feedback and experiences are and hopefully someone else tried to retrofit a part on an older model.

I used 2015 parts on my 2013 so it worked out in my favor
