tahe5uqu_2dd2e53957a59ec7e64c913676ac39f7d5151682.jpg I know it has been a while but I finally got the hood installed last night. My uncle had it at the shop since the day I bought it we finally had time to paint it. I went with semi gloss black with white insert. 4ydura8e_f62fee96082b0221439018f59cb0547df09aa625.jpg before I ran out of day light and had not installed the insert

I called several dealers and all of them told me the scooped hood was not available -- this has to be wrong! What happens if I wrecked my TRD sport with scooped hood; could I not order another one from the stealership? WTF, anyone know where i can get a scooped hood? I want to trade my TRD sport for a TRD Offroad 4X4 and merely want the scoop on it....

Group buy price was only $48 less than Camelback for genuine Toyota.
It was a good try but with the vendor and Autozone both getting markup....

The thread did not surprise me at all though. When first posted, I knew there would be 30+ people interested, and even if the final price was only $200, only 10 would have actually come through. That's the nature of group buys, and the more expensive the item, the worse it is to try to hold it together.

Everybody wants a scooped hood... but they aren't even willing to add $200 on top of their stock hood to trade with someone who has one that's already painted and has the inserts.

    Yup....

$115 for the scooped hood, $110 without the scoop for '05-'11
$131 for the scooped hood, $128 without the scoop for '12+

Rock is not listing the scoop insert parts, just the hood.

Not necessarily true. I would gladly pay someone 200 and my stock hood. If theirs was in as good as shape as mine.

We've got a scooped/non-scooped trade thread that's been going for a couple of years.

Only a couple of successful trades, and much butthurt when someone wants a few bucks extra for their scooped hood.

It may be for you but not my style.

Hell if I could find someone in the area to paint the hood. I can get a hood locally for 200.00 and even less on ebay. Its the damn insert that is so much.
