Man you need to get busy on this!! My stupid windows rattle from the broken locks and it drives me crazy. I love having those vents open.

Well since I've got your attention, could you take some pictures of how the brackets mount to the truck? I'm pretty sure it's the same as mine, but the plastic coverings are different.

Would love to get this kit for my truck, does anyone have a link to the rear sliding window as well or did no one make one for the double sliders? (95-00)

Ah okay!, I was wondering how the motor didnt just burn up from wanting to keep turning, didnt know that itll stall and cut power once it cant go any further. Also looked further into your build thread, your truck is so sick!

It doesn't actually cut power in this case (stock window motors do).
If you held the switch down with them stalling they would eventually heat up, but this would most likely take a long time with the amperage involved.

I would definitely be down for this 100% at the price points you are talking about, probably even a bit more. I have powered wings in my '06 LC and I use them constantly in the spring and fall for ventilation and exactly as you described to vent the heat out in the summer time. Let me know if I can help at all (photos, measurements, etc)

    Cheers,

I’d pay <$100 for this if you work out a decent kit that works on a ‘04

The mounting brackets are hidden behind the plastic trim on 01-04. That means you have to remove it to get to the mount.
This also changes how something like this can mount since the motor needs to be on the outside of the plastic. On my 99 it's easy because I can just put the motor right on top of the mounting bracket.

How are you planning on the motors? stepper with feedback or dc and you just have it stop when it doesnt have the torque? Still thinking of making them?

Oh I made a set for myself that I've been using for years. I just haven't spent the time to design a mount that can be easily reproduced.

They are just 12v gear drive motors from Amazon connected to linkages from a minivan. I wired these into the oem 4 door tacoma window switches.
They just stall when fully open or closed. I tested the stall current and it wasn't anything significant so it works.
