I hope to make it to both these events.

 

I get a huge kick out of wheeling with Tacoma's and 4Runners to see what mods people are doing and to see how they work off pavement compared to what I know with the FJ.

Plus you Tacoma guys have some great purpose built trucks.... When I finally sell my FJ it is going to be a tough decision between a DBL cab Taco or a Runner....

Damit. Can't make the next trip to rausch so I was thinking of going to this. Now I find out a local off-road club is having their "spring thaw" event that same weekend. Ugh. Decisions. Decisions. Who do I want to wheel with jeeps or toyotas. Haha

I would lean toward the local stuff too.

For me this is sort of THE trip of the year. It's a 16hr run for us just to get to Rausch. The upside is that we have been to 6 of the 8 years so far (missed one for building a house and one life just got in the way) and have made so many friends that we only get to hang out with once a year....

It's a good time. Great folks. Love Rausch Creek. It is a win win win for us.

Think about it guys. Caravanning can be half the fun with a good bunch.

I really wish I could get to Rausch for Easter.... I wonder how gooey it is in there with snow melt.

 

It's not all that bad.

Winter snow runs are the best there.

 

Yeah. Last year was ok. But they are changing it up this year. Last year it was held at a local hs football stadium. And you got with a group and went wheeling for a bit then went back to the stadium. It was ok. But it's just a one dayer.

Honestly I can't imagine getting around Rausch in snow.

So are any of you going this weekend? Looks like rain all day Friday but mild and sunny and cool on Saturday. Part of me misses going over Easter but the weather in May is so much nicer.

 

Rausch bit me pretty good in the snow this winter. A bed side, door and transfer case

 

I am hearing reports of the amount of trees missing. Story is there was a logging company in there during the winter and a lot of clear cutting went on. That will certainly change the look of many trails.

 

I got the same report from a bunch of guys who were up there this past weekend... Apparently the area completely surrounding yellow jacket is devoid of all trees.

Should be very interesting to see what things look like now. It's such a large property I can see it affecting a couple areas but not the park as a whole.
