Was stuck pretty bad and my front was in a bad bind. Was hard on the gas and moving then came this awful noise from the front followed by a loud pop. I think I stripped either the gears or the axles in the front and on the cajun yota page on FB I have a pic of my front axle hanging.

Yea but oh well better have it happen close to home rather than on the trail. The insurance will cover it I filled a claim with them. If Toyota doesn't charge to much I may jsut pay for it out of pocket. Also I just priced some used and some new parts online and the total was a little over $1500 so I may have a local shop just do it for me for that price. I will wait and see how it all plays out before I do anything. What I want to do is a SAS with a 5 speed tanny and a marlin crawler T case :D maybe a crawl box too

Yea, you are right about that and 1500 seems kind of high. It must have destroyed your diff. I would love to sas my truck but between funds and time, I just don't have enough of either lol. Plus everyone I've talked to, that has done a sas says that they aren't very good for a DD and that is what mine is right now. If you get your truck back before the trip, are you gonna go?

Yea I think my diff is pretty much done. 1500 is kinda high I think not sure what all that goes for new but for everything that isn't to bad. That is front diff, t-case, front drive shaft, and two new axles plust whatever labor is. Yea that is the only bad thing about the SAS not the greatest on the road. It would be so bad ass to have it though. I may tru to make it up there for at least a day not sure if I can make the entire trip I would love to go had such a good time last time we went.

Oh ok. I didn't realize that is the price for a whole front drive train including the t-case. That aint too bad of a price then. I thought that was the price for a ring and pinion and axles. SAS would definitely be bad ass, no doubt and yea the last trip was awesome, that's why I can't wait for this next one. One day is better than none.

Yea the $1500 is for a whole new front end and stuff so not to bad considering what it could cost. Bad ass and like you said lots of time and money. The money I can get it's just the time. Maybe this summer when I can ride my bike more with the warm weather or just next time I destroy my truck. Yea very true one is better than none.

No, I decided to go without the kickouts. From the pics that I have seen the cbi's look like they stick out kind of far without the kickouts and didn't really want them out too far.

Good point, if they already stick out then no reason for the kick outs.
