I was chatting with one of my friends about making Titanium lug sets for our vehicles. He has a Vette which is the same thread (M12-1.50P) as our Tacomas. They will be CNC'd out of 6AL-4V. Price should be around $400 for a set of 24.

Just curious if any Tacoma owners here would be interested in something like that?

i doubt anybody would want that. i know you can pick them up ebay for half that price. Fyi. not trying to kill your thread.

also funny that a vette has metric threads lol

I see a lot of Ti look or finish lugs on Ebay but no lugs made out of Ti material. Maybe I need to look harder? If you find a set thats real Ti and not made in China for 1/2 that price, send me a link will ya. I'll buy a set

    Pros: Lighter and more corrosion-resistant
Cons: Galls the threads so you'd have to put anti-seize, which is insecure and requires you to compute a lower torque value

I have a hard time understanding why that would be worth 400 on anything that touches a public road.. Lol its a cool weight saver but damn.. Wish I had that kind of money to worry about lug nuts.

^Weight saving is minimal, because the lugnuts have to be larger to account for titanium's lower strength compared to steel. You are better off spending $3000 on forged wheels. :D

yep mostly for the cool factor. I see a lot of aftermarket lug sets for sale and was just wondering if anyone here might be interested. Thanks all for your feedback.
