I believe Tooter only tested a 2" spacer and not any other size. Maybe 2" is sweet spot, maybe not. Would be interesting to test every a 1", 1.5" and 2.5" but that would require dyno time.

Well, what if we all pooled and pre-funded the operation?

I could be wrong but I thought he did try other thicknesses and he went with 2” because he stopped seeing gains after that

Could possibly be that he did. I would have to re-read the thread again, it's been a while.

Tooter basically got this idea from one he saw available for the V6 Taco, that was 1" thick (limited due to space having the bigger engine). He wondered if he doubled the thickness, if he would get double the results. He was unsure what, if any, gains he would get prior to Dyno time. After installing the spacer and testing on the Dyno, he found the spacer lowered the torque by about 250 rpm, and fattened it up around 1.5 and 2.7k rpm. Sry, not trying to be a know it all, but I memorized all of Tooters postings on this spacer because I wanted one so bad. Anyway, as I mentioned a little while back, I do have someone who says this is a piece of cake to make. I spoke to him just before the holidays, and hope to meet up with him very soon to finalize the details and get the ball rolling on making them. I will then have to get gaskets and bolts to go along with the spacers. Hopefully it won't take long to get things going once I sit down with him :fingerscrossed:. Once I get price estimates I will try to get an idea of who all is interested and we'll go from there. Sound good? Of course it does, cause we all want one! :D

You're very welcome. I actually got on Tooters list to get one of these before I ever had a Tacoma. I couldn't handle not being able to get one if/when I actually DID get a Taco. Obviously he fell off the planet before that happened, and I've been trying to get one since. A few weeks ago I was looking @ drill presses, making plans to start hand making one of these things. Luckily I got to chatting with a guy I go to church with (who owns a plastic machining shop, coincidentally), and he has agreed to help me out. So, we may have just found a permanent supply! Assuming it's not too difficult to make, and the price is not too expensive. :fingerscrossed: I will keep everyone posted as things happen.

Glad to see yall are still trying. Sadly, my truck is going to be sold soon as the new flatbed bed gets powder coated. Good luck to you all on this though.

Ok. It's mostly done now, just needs to be taken off and a few more welds made and touched up with a tiger paw. I will get a pic in the morning

I wish I was keeping it. I have stamped light weight fold up sides that are removable. Role bar is so tall because cab was gonna get a 1 inch lift, and the light bar was gonna be installed on the front of the bar, that way I can still hall my 10 foot flatbottom on top, and all my camping and fishing gear on the bed along with my outboard.
