This is coming from a guy who has only owned dark trucks...

Get a light colored truck! Sky Silver or quicksand! I usually do not like the way silver cars/trucks look and was set on either MGM or quicksand. The moment I saw the sky silver... I had to have it. It almost has a bluish hue to it. Very sexy silver.

But that's not why I say light colored. Like I said, I've only owned dark trucks and didn't think anything of it. As soon as I got the silver, I noticed a HUGE difference in temperature to the body. I knew dark colors attracted heat, but I guess I didn't realize how much of a difference. It was huge. This makes a difference to the life of the paint as well as inside temperature.

Whatever ya get... Congrats on the new truck!

I don't know where you guys get this information. all automotive paints have clear coat since at least the 80's when the last few cars with lacquer paint were built. Without clear coat the base coat would be damaged within a few months.

do NOT get black. It shows every single imperfection like a billboard. My first taco was black and I traded that s.o.b.

Get the black, nothing looks better than a black truck.
My black sport is being built tomorrow, I could have had another color sooner but decided to wait for the black one.

    In progress...
If you are torn between those two colors, it's because deep down inside you know you want black but you feel that you might not be worthy. You KNOW that black is beautiful but cannot deal with the fact that sometimes you will have to accept some tradeoffs to get what you really desire...
So you can get a black truck and accept that mud is beautifull on black, or get a grey one, look the other way and just PRETEND that it is clean!:lalala:

Nailed it. I'm currently on the once every 4 months wash schedule, and I don't know if I want to commit to washing every few weeks.

I've seen it in black and MGM. MGMFTMFW. Black is a nightmare to look after and MGM shows off the angular lines of the 3rd Gen which I quite like. Black just looks boring and there is no 'contrast' between the body lines. MGM has always been my go to colour when buying new cars.

Once every four months!!! Then it doesn't matter what color you get, your truck will always look like shit. MGM is only slightly better then black and that's why it was my go to color. I love black but I was washing and waxing my black 2012 GTI every week just to keep it looking mint. Silver might be a better color for you if you only plan to wash it every four months...is that even possible?!?

I didn't read all the responses, just his. In that case just buy a 95 SR5.

Ok, 4 months is an exageration. I'll wash it about once every month in the summer. But when it's cold in the winter and the roads are wet, I'll usually just let it sit and ignore the dirt.
