So this has now happened twice this week, randomly. I have an 09' 4cyl. 5 spd.
I'll be going along the highway fine, in 5th at 70ish (so figure 2400 rpm), then really quick it will feel like I've just dropped the clutch, that same shudder/clunk you get when you let it out too quickly during a shift/from a stop. Then its back to normal. The clutch itself feels fine though (no slipping) so I don't think thats the issue, I was thinking maybe a fuel supply problem? Any ideas?

People forget to put this in, but it is important: do you have 4x4 or 2wd and how many miles?

This could be anything from drive-train to rear springs. Sometimes when I hit a bump at high speed the traction kicks in and I get a little clunk in the drive-train when the wheel loses grip.

Is this happening when you hit a hill or put some form of load on the drive train like having the cruise kicking in? Do you see the RPM's change when this happens? I've been through a clutch TSB replacement on my 2010 at 20k miles and I had a lot of poor engagement issues and clunks at speed.

I have mine do this but it right after I put in gear. It only done a couple times. Mine feels like it don't disengage for a sec after foot off clutch. It only has done a couple times. Not sure what it is.

Sorry, its a 4x4 with about 55k, and I don't recall any bumps or putting a load on it. I have been watching the rpms though and haven't seen any change.

Well it seems most of those issues were slipping clutches? This is more a sudden loss and regaining of power, coupled with a drivetrain shudder (similar to when the clutch is let out too quickly)...thats probably a better way to explain it.

Mine was not slipping where the rpms raised that I could notice, but it did engage poorly and did have moments of shudder. It was replaced under TSB and found to have been a faulty part. The replacement is stronger and does not exhibit these issues. It is the pressure plate that is the weaker design. Unfortunately my dealer had to say it was slipping in 4th to get them to do the replacement because the TSB reads that way for qualification. You have to get a dealer to help you out.
