Damn. I'm sorry you're going through all that. One of my best friends has a multiple location, multiple vertebrae spinal fusion from injuries he sustained in Iraq. He has had a crazy number of surgeries, and a long recovery road. While he's on a pain medication plan (pain killers, anti inflammatories, nerve medicine, etc) he said one of the most beneficial things he gets are spinal injections to ease the inflammation on his vertebrae.

My girlfriend is a medical massage therapist and also works on his back. If you can find the right massage therapist, they can do wonders. It's hard to find someone with experience dealing with intense injuries like yours, but if you can, it will be extremely helpful. A large part of pain you may be feeling in your chest is inflammation on the front side of your spine. Massage can move that inflammation around and help blood flow.

If you'd like, I can ask my friend what the injections he receives are.

Good luck to you sir, I hope you can find some relief.

Been doing them for years. They have helped to the point I can deal with my past spine problems. Back in 92 I pop a disk between 5c and c6. It blew inwards and was cutting my cord. All the doctors back then was telling me the disk dose not blow inward. Bull shit and this chiro I went to figured out what was going on and back these doctors againt ther wall and they went in and fixed it.

Went to town last evening about 3:30 just under a mile to the store and like not made it. I went into one of these damn sleep things and thought I was going to have to stop on the side of the street. It took everything I had to get back home. Now the wife don't want me driving just what little bit I have.

I figure she is right. I been thinking all along that if I get behind the wheel and cause an accident and anyone can figure out what is wrong with me and can prove it they would hang my ass out to dry.

Have you tried Medical Marijuana? Some strains really help with the pain and you can ingest it in all kinds of ways, Topical creams exist now that you can apply directly to the sight of pain. Its also alot healthier than pain meds that have opiates and all other kinds of chemicals that make the pain worse over time. Just my .02, Consult a doctor for more options and best of luck to you OP I hope this helps

PS i heard teeter hang ups does wonders for back pain as well

I had sciatica a few years ago and couldn't walk for about a week. I can't even imagine what you are going through.

I really hope you find a doctor that can really help you get better.

    Vent away my friend!

im sorry to hear about your situation op and i pray for a speedy recovery. I dont know if you read books often or not but i just finished a book, called Way of the Peaceful Warrior by Dan Millman, about learning to let your mind go and seeing that there is no such thing as a negative situation. it helped me change the way i perceive otherwise negative situations. I believe everything happens for a reason and that all situations present an opportunity to grow or move into a different direction. take this as a chance to see how strong you really are. my little brother totaled his car 3 years ago, shattered his femur(which is now a titanium rod), had his ankle split in two as well as his achilles torn apart and many other ligaments destroyed and a steering wheel smashed into his chest. lucky to be alive and was told hed never play soccer and hed be lucky to walk again without a limp. at 21 now hes weightlifting and playing soccer better than he ever has. and walks completely normal. i know its minimal comparatively to your situation, but keep your head and and dont stop pushing forward. pain is only temporary and theres always a light at the end of the tunnel!

OP. this worked for me. It's a book called , Mind over back pain, by Dr john sarna. It's a book you can buy a most large book stores or online. I was in a similar situation 15 yrs ago. I've given this book to dozens of people and it's been nothing short of a miracle for most of them. Best of luck

Had that done some years back, maybe 2004. Had three of them, one a month. They did good for a week then all hell came back. During the last one he hit something I went numb from the waste down to my toes and lasted to about two months or so.

In 2007 I went on fentanyl patches. Started out on 25mg first month. Did good for about two weeks. Next month he bump it to 50mg and told me try that, again just two weeks or lees on that one. Went back and he told me he could take it up to 100mg and I told him no more I was done with them.

Since then I took care of the problem with my mind. Not no more, my mind is not able to handle this.

i read where the doc was thinking of morphine ... That only works for short periods and then the dosage has to increase and then they put you on a methadone program to get off the morphine. A guy I used to work with takes methadone 3x a day for his fused back and neck ... He isn't the same man anymore. I pray you find relief without the opioids. Lord, please give this man some relief.
