Curious what you are doing here.

Are you using an air dryer desdicant so you can spray FF?

FF does not need a dry source of compressed air to be sprayed.

You will need a compressor that can supply 60 psi at 14 cfm. The sprayers are air hungry. A pancake compressor is going to be a pain to use. You will get 25 seconds of spraying, then have to wsitv5 minutes for the tank to pressurise.

i am using FF in the rattle cans and testing two products at the same time in the front wheel wells (one on each side) since the FF washed off underneath fairly easily it seemed when trying it out, probably just user error though

earlier this year i had to buy an electric oil-free compressor to operate an abrasive blast gun and am still trying to figure out why the HF compressor spits out so much water vapor! perhaps it is defective :notsure:

i have not even heard of that
maybe it looks promising for an after road spray when plain water will freeze :notsure:
    have you tried it?

pure road salt from the dried evaporated streets earlier this month
spread out for maybe an inch of snow that melted and froze

i just called them up in Texas for some deets

it was recently released to the public last month
one gallon diluted with water will approximate 20 or so washings 'liberally'
below 25F will need some type of other dilution fluid, like washer fluid, to keep from freezing

    i must try it :spending:

    $13 shipping for 1 gallon
    $31 shipping for 5 gallon

    The Science of Salt Removal
    December 10, 2019

Salt has some unique characteristics to it. It boils at 2,699 degrees, is soluble in water and creates a phanonomon called freezing point depression. It is also so commonly found that there is never a shortage of it and is practically impossible to destroy making it ideal for de-icing many of our local roadways.

Have you ever left a pot of boiling water on the stove and forgot about it. When you finally return there is a buildup on the sides and bottom of hard white stuff. When you add a little water to it you find out it does not come off quite as easily as you would have expected. What was left behind is the same stuff salt is made from (and some of it salt itself).

The boiling water example is exactly what is occurring under your vehicle. Extremely high temperatures literally bake salt onto your car or truck. When the salt is reintroduced to water it solubilizes but does not just disappear. This occurs over and over again all winter long.

Salts Gone works by using a powerful chelating agent to bond with the salt molecules. This allows them to be easily removed and leaves behind a barrier for them to not stick back to the vehicle. In essence it is a magnet for salt and once it sticks it creates a hydrophilic layer that prevents more from attacking the parent material. Its like teflon for salt.

The world is full of chemistry and salt is a real issue. Fortunately we worry about that and all you need to do is use it.

Whether you are looking to protect a personal vehicle or manage a fleet of trucks Salts Gone will work for you.

If you are interested in providing a mobile salt removal service (make money), manage a fleet of commercial vehicles or just looking to protect your personal car call us anytime at 832-242-1147 with questions or email info@saltsgone.com

We provide Salts Gone to some of the largest companies in the world. Take action to stop the corrosion caused by road salt today. We offer same day/next day shipping and always have product in stock. From large companies and State DOT's to individuals we provide a simple solution to a complex problem.

i had already rinsed my black truck fairly well so had to use my relative's red truck that had been to the DSM area a few weeks ago when they had salt on the roads and it was still hazy
scum on red doesn't show up quite as noticeable as black, quicksand has probably even less haze?

this is after... no before pic but had a light white hazeIMG_0087.jpg

i will check tomorrow, once its had time to sit, dry and evaporate, what kind of streaks are left without using a spot-free rinse afterwards

Take a look at all the 1st gen 4runners and pre-tacoma pickups on the road... about 75% of them are rusted through in the fender wells. When they moved production of those two vehicles to the USA the problem only got worse. I would say in 20-30 years time it will be the same deal for Tacos. Now my concern with applying any sort of paint or rubber like coating to a painted surface is that the coating will infact trap moisture against the paint surface, causing it to rust away from the inside, where you cant see it because its covered up by a fancy new undercoat

there are really not many pre-tacoma pickups at all left here in my location, they could be as rare as 1 in 10,000 or more in a city area over 500k population, but there are more detroit trucks here just by looking at the salvage lot inventories
I have made it 23 years now with nothing real noticeable (other than the tailgate area and a spot in the driver door sill) but I have routinely and deliberately hosed out the fender wells with a passion during the cold winters
this spring/summer I am going to try and more thoroughly inspect everything hidden behind the fender liners
