I wanted the extra cab for more passenger room. With kids plus sometimes carpooling to work, going out with friends & road trips, it just made way more sense. The access cab just was not adequate for me.

First mod I did was the 3" RevTek lift. Then... tires & wheels!

Was the lift for aesthetics? Or was there a practical reason? Several of you on here have gone with the lift as one of the first mods and it seems the few of you who have it live in area's where you get alot of snow. I.E. it's easier to drive in bad weather? My "Boss" needs something kind of high because of her back to get in and out. Since my next TACO will be DC (whenever my current 95 model dies) I got to make sure when I buy "my truck" it will meet "her" needs. (Smile)

I got a Tacoma to transport my atv. I got a double cab because I like the looks better and for my dogs, also a place to put my gear...oh and for passengers too. I got a 4x4 because we play in the sand dunes. I added d-rings in the front of the bed for atv tie-downs. I changed the wheels and tires, wheels for looks and went with an all terrain tire instead of the dunlop crap that came on it. I changed out the radio, tinted the windows, got wet okole seat covers and weathertech floor liners, those are all self explanatory and I got a bed mat for free. I haven't done anything else, because I like it as is and it does everything I need it to do...I spend all my money on my sand toys .

I don't actually have tint on my windows, and I always have them down (since I don't have AC), so it doesn't matter to me. I don't like the reflective tint personally because I think it looks a little tacky. But if I was to put tint on my windows it would be around 20% or less. I like being able to see the inside when looking in from the outside. And no, I've never even actually used the DVD player.... except the first time I tried it out, there are so many other better things to do when camping. :) And I haven't owned a TV since February...

Lucky for me I don't have a 'boss' to answer to ;) except the 2 furry ones and they aren't very demanding.

    Thank you, TSM!!

rme- I can't honestly say I got the lift for purely practical reasons, as it handled great when it was stock. We do live at the furthest end of a mountainous 5 acres, in an elevated rural area. So snow is an issue for us every winter. It would be nice to justify the lift & wheels for that reason, but no. I have always loved that sort of look and decided to treat myself to what I really wanted.
