I’m in the process of painting my stock fender flares on my ‘16 limited.

I have replacement orange and blue clips to replace broken ones and also some 3m automotive 2 sided tape and such to do the reinstall “proper”.

Where my question comes in play is in method of reinstatement.

For those of you who have reinstalled stock fenders, is it easier to put the orange and blue clips on the plastic fender flare first and then snap the fender/clip into the truck bed holes, or is it easier to do the opposite, have the orange and blue clips already on the truck bed metal and then snap the plastic fender flare on to the clips?

I’m pretty sure I’m going to wait to pull the red backing of the 2 sided tape off until the flares are snapped onto the truck.

Thoughts or suggestions from those who have done this? I have no doubt I can make it work, but thought I’d ask rather than reinvent the wheel.

    Install clips on the flare.

you will have a hard time if you ate going with other method

Start from the bottom (mudguard side), insert clip, pull the backing a bit, press (should hear a click). Move to next hole and repeat

If you have a gap between flare and fender, push the flare with the force.
