I'm looking at possibly buying the fender flares & a trailer hitch from any wrecked 1995 - 2004 TRD trucks. Are the fender flares removable and would it fit on my 1999 Toyota Tacoma without any issues? What's your opinion about this and has anyone else done this?

Best to look for some from 98-00 as they are pretty thick painted fiberglass and bolt on inside the fender well in existing holes. The 01-04 are plastic and mounted on the outside of the fender I believe in square holes.

    Hey harper7,

Thanks for your response. I'll be looking at used TRD fender flares from a 1998 - 2000 truck then. It sounds like the 2001 -2004 TRD fender flares may not work out for me. My truck fenders doesn't have any holes drilled in it.

Here's another thread on it and you can see the outside fender holes in the 01-04's in one of the post.
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/who-runs-no-fender-flares.472199/

The 98-00's are pretty hard to find as I've been looking for a extra set in case a tree decides it wants to mate with mine.lol
Toyota still sells them new but they're not cheap. .....just checked and Camelback Toyota wants $209 a piece

Out of curiousity, what is the Toyota part number for the TRD fender flares?

    Wow ,the rears are $324.
Bushwacker makes flares for 1st gen tacomas too.

Camelback toyota is where I look up parts and where I buy for that matter as they are one of the cheapest and have good manuals.. They are a vendor on here and give a discount to TW members and free shipping on most stuff. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/camelback-toyota-discount-for-tw-members.207298/

from Camelback's website... #4 on the fronts and #5 on the rears and this is for a 2000

I just looked at the Bushwhackers and they are 359$ for the 1" which is pretty close to what 98-00 came with, and 399$ for 1.5" Extend-a-fender, which are similar in size to the 01-04. they both mount the same as the 98-00, inside the lip of the fenderwell using stock hardware locations. no drilling required. They are black thermoplastic according to the website.

Just went out a measured mine, oem 2000 TRD fiberglass ones and they stick out little over 2 inches on the fronts and 1 1/2" on the rears. You had me wondering when you said 1".lol

I have factory chrome fender flares on my '98 PreRunner, I'm looking to get the fiberglass 98-00 style, are these direct bolt on? I don't want to drill any holes.

Truck looks great, did you face swap to 95-97? I've never seen Imperial Jade on a 95 face.... looks great.

Fyi fender flares werent limited to trd trucks. Before 01 they were hit and miss on all models of tacomas and after 01 they were on all of them...

I put the bushwacker extendafender on both my trucks, for what it's worth...

My '96 never came with flares, but I bolted up a set of '98 flares directly to my fender liners. Really straight forward and no need for any cutting, extra bolts, tape, etc. They stick out about an 1" and cover the body panel about 1.5" up so if you have shoddy fenders it may cover it. '01-'04 flares have clips and I don't know if they will work on our trucks. Bushwacker makes some also
