Hi, I have a 2015 TRD Sport that has been lifted and fitted with 285/70/17. It has wheel spacers and the tires rub in various positions, mostly in reverse. I've removed the factory mudflaps and I've begun cutting the fender flares inside the wheel-well. The rubbing is mostly gone, but still there. I'm wondering if anyone has replaced the 4WD fenders with fenders that don't have the flares to eliminate rubbing with any success?

Any pictures, or a little more knowledge would be much appreciated.

I've tried the heat gun treatment and it didn't work so I removed the mudflaps. It is definitely rubbing on the fender flare. Removing the fender flare reveals the square attachment holes which are part of the fender.

Where is it rubbing and what are you alignment specs?

I'm running 285/75/16 on a 16x8.5 with 4.5 backspacing and 0 offset. I had to hammer the pinch weld flat, trim a bit of plastic fender flare and liner, and chop the cab mount. I have SPC control arms and my alignment specs are 0-4-0 (camber-caster-toe). I still rub a bit on the fender liner in a couple spots and fender flare at the top of the fender when the suspension is fully stuffed.

In the rust belt, I wouldn't leave that body mount open like that because it's a perfect place for road chemicals to accumulate.

That's awesome, I appreciate it. I'll have to get my alignment specs, and we thought about flipping and reversing them when we did it, but decided to try it the "prescribed way" first. I have OME uppers, Bilstein 6112's. It is rubbing right in front of the body cab mount like the missing area in your cab-mount-mod picture. I'll post alignment specs once I locate them in my filing cabinet tonight.

The last step of a cab mount chop is typically to weld in fill plates.

Once I was done cutting the fill plates were welded on and everything was primed and painted. The bottom of the cab mount is wide open, salt belt isn't a concern. I was more worried about collecting rocks and mud in the opening.
