I like the way the clear made the bumpers look. Now they have just a bit of shine. They don't just look dusty.

 

Stonewall has the dumb today.
It's reminiscent of last year's problem. (I think it was last year, anyways)
Last night, he died as soon as I started him, thought it was a fluke. Maybe I turned the key back too early or something. Tried again, and he started right up.
Did it three more times today, started, died. Always managed to get him to start in the end, but now I don't trust him to go anywhere other than Robert's because I can leave him there if I have to. Reminds me of last year when this happened and it turned out to be the wire leading to the fuel pump. I'd tested it all the way back to the tank, and everything read good, so I figured it was the pump. Dropped the tank and took out the fuel pump, hooked it to a battery and it was fine. Looked closer, and saw how the ends of the wires were all corroded and one of the prong things were broke. Cleaned it up and slapped some dielectric grease in the wire boot to foster a connection. I think that quick fix has gone bad. Gonna test everything all the way through the system just to be sure, but I've got a sneaking suspicion that it's that stupid wire connection. Not looking forward to dropping that tank again. Just when things start going good, something had to ruin it.
I think Stonewall is jealous, because now there's two other Yotas sharing my attention with him.

 

The issue mentioned above has not resurfaced. All is good for now, I suppose.

Fuck it, might as well revive my truck's thread. He's still kicking strong, almost 7 years in. He's a little uglier, (I learned my lesson about spraypaint) and had another hiccup, but he's back out terrorizing the road. Ain't been able to do a whole lot, but he did finally get his first Optima Redtop battery, which I'm still ridiculously stoked about. No more winter no-starts! The aforementioned hiccup was that the fuel pump went out again. I'm a little surprised, because the last one was a Denso, (as is this one) but I guess 6 and a half years isn't terrible. Not to mention, my clogged ass inline fuel filter probably didn't help. Ps, I finally replaced that, too.

Yeah, for sure. Got busy as hell for a while, then my oldest sister had a kid, so I've been doing the uncle thing. Got injured and couldn't work for a bit, and that kinda put me in a bad place for a while. But I'm back!
