No worries dude, you are right in tylenol being a weaker COX inhibitor, so less risk of side effects, but OP and fiancee should continue advice of HCP as each pt, etc. is unique and there is still no strong evidence to support adv effects with this disease process and NSAID use.

And now they're walking it back. It's tough to try and keep people informed when the people who are supposedly the experts are giving out information prematurely! OTOH it might be better than giving it out too late.

    These are tough times.

Geez , seems testing is taking a while for many ... we called our San Diego drive-thru testing sites , and they said for now only medical professionals/ workers were being tested. They went on to say only folks exhibiting “bad symptoms” will be tested at your local ER or clinic (call ahead of time they said).

If this is covid19 I’m sure you Guys will pull through ! And once you have all recovered, you will be among the few humans who are now immune and not infectious! Quarantine rules will be meaningless and fear of the unknown will be gone . It would be like being one of the x-men .

    Update:

I don’t know if you all have kids, but the emotion you have watching them in pain, and knowing you can’t fix it... is unbearable. I feel so guilty because I am not nearly as sick as my fiancée and baby girl. I know it’s not my fault. But I would do anything to trade places with both of them.

My little one is really sick... fevers ranging from 99-102. They go up and down. Similar to what my fiancée is having...she’s also vomiting. Idk if it’s because of all the crying. But it’s happened a few times now. My fiancée was also vomiting in the first few days of her being sick...

Emotions are high at the moment. I’m juggling a lot, trying to be super dad and a super partner. My fiancée and little one are asleep now in the bed. And I’m just trying to figure out our next step. We’ve called our pediatrician, and basically ... we are on our own. Unless her fever skyrockets to something like my fiancée had when she was rushed to the ER... ( 104.4 )

I really appreciate every kind word that has been said. To answer a few questions ... We’ve been using baby Tylenol , and keeping her fluid levels high. She did have a fantastic appetite and ate all her breakfast. . . So there’s always some positives. My Blood Type is O-. We have plenty of supplies and appreciate everyone’s offers.

We are on day 6 and I’m gearing up for an emotional rollercoaster for the next few days.

Will update you all again when I can.

Thanks for the update. I really feel for you and having to watch your baby girl go through that, fortunately our 3 month old hasn't been sick with anything yet but I do know the heartache associated with having them crying uncontrollably and not knowing what you can/should do to make it better. I imagine when they are sick that is 100x worse.

Sounds like you are doing your best and in the end, when they're both healthy and through this, that will be all that matters. In the meantime keep doing what you're doing.

As a parent I feel you. There will be more times like this ahead as kids get sick all the time. Until you get the actual diagnosis I would mentally wipe away the covid from your mind. That's probably not helping.

My wife and I look back and joke about times we've both been sick AF. Like " remember the time i was so sick I shit myself in bed and you cleaned it up for me without saying a word"...that sort of thing.

Short story here is kids are super resilient and hopefully in a month your wife will look back and really appreciate how you took care of the family.

    Good luck, keep us posted

Yes, only take medical advice from your health care provider.

Lancet is a credible base source, and Ars is a credible journalistic summary of the current knowledgebase.

Mechanism of action is the same between both one is a weaker inhibitor between the two, so a website speculating something with little evidence to support it is not credible. ACE inhibitors makes sense based on their mechanism of action but NSAIDs I would like to see actual evidence that supports this claim.
