I have someone who is getting into my business and talking shit through email and want to figure out who it is. Is there a way I can tell who is sending the emails like the IP address or something?

Are they sending e-mails TO YOU?

Or who are they sending e-mails to? And how do you know they're *talking smack* ?

Are they a separate business? What are they *talking smack* about?

Have you tried sending an e-mail back to them requesting them to (nicely) stop??

I've never actually done this myself, but I've heard of people taking people's e-mails and submitting them to porn site newsletters and basically anything that will prompt them to get shitloads of spam. But - you didn't hear that from me.

If you look at the full original header you can see their IP address. Look at the IP in the last "Received:" paragraph in the header. Then use a site like ARIN.net to trace the IP if you want to know their internet provider.

To find out who they are, you'll need a subpoena.
