Hey all, I was recently rear ended and my truck is getting a new frame and bed replacement. Obviously this will be brining my trucks resale value down. I am hearing from a lot of other folks on here that i should file a diminished value claim. Essentially this would compensate for the loss of value due to the crash. How do I do that and do you guys have and any recommendations of any diminished value claimed specialists in the san diego area?

If you are filing your claim through the at fault carrier, you can just let them know that you want to file a DV claim and they can advise you on what you need to do to get it taken care of. If you are filing through your own insurance carrier talk to your adjuster. Some policies have exclusions for 1st part DV claims and they won't cover anything. In that situation you would need to file DV with the at fault carrier. You can hire your own adjuster to do the calculations for you, but when it comes to the insurance carrier they typically don't care what your Independent Adjuster says is owed as they will calculate their own values. It can be a hassle but worth getting some extra money. Good luck
