Will fap so hard! I still have my original ff7 for ps from 199X, i dont remember its release year, i was a teenager, but i begged the living shit out of my mother to take me to kmart the morning it was relesed, unfortunately due to newer gen systems beyond the original Playstation, my memory cards became corrupted/erased.... Regardless, the E3 video shows the crowds crazy excitement for this!

 

If the e3 trailer/demo is any indication (and even stated in that article) it is only going to be a re-release...not a remake. Meaning it will not be in "HD" with new graphics...it will technically be an emulated version of the original with 16/32 bit sound and graphics...heck even the cgi cutscenes will have the same quality it did on the first playstation...just now you can play it on the ps4. I'll pass.

I'm not sure how I feel about this.... http://www.gamespot.com/articles/final-fantasy-7-remake-s-story-could-deviate-from-/1100-6428247/ The jist of it is that they might mess with the story, because they feel like it's a waste to release the exact same game.

I was afraid of this... from a game-designer standpoint, of course they'd want to put their own 'stamp' on a video game, so that they can call it their own. It would be an extremely boring project if all they were doing was re-doing the graphics of the entire game.... so, I get it, they want to make it 'their own'. But the 15 year old in me wants the story and scenes exactly the same as they were in the original game.

I'm open to the idea of them tweaking some scenes, but I don't trust them to do it right. I'm afraid they'll change or delete or add scenes that will mess up the 'remake' experience.





...Though I'll admit, some added scenes with Zack and some more history between Vincent/Lucrecia/Sephiroth would be awesome!!

A little fun factoid - FF7 is where I first chose the name "Benson X" (for Cloud's character)

 

This was a pretty sick E3. Between the FF7 remake and Fallout 4 announcements I'm pretty stoked for my next gen gaming after having such lame releases so far.

I have to give Bethesda huge props though. Not only did they have a release announcement, but the game is less than 6 months from the shelves. IF square could of done that I would of been more impressed.

 

Loved FF7 but as the FF series grew it just became a shit ton of videos and some game play. I'm hoping they don't kill this game with just useless video's all over the place.

 

Of all the newer FF games, I thought XII was the best. The XIII Series was not great.

Horizon looks decent too, but Fallout 4 is gonna be badass!!! I keep hoping they will (finally) release The Last Guardian, but I've pretty much lost hope on that. Shadow of the Colossus was a killer game IMO.

 

I was just thinking about this game the other day. I had some serious hours in this one just to fight the 2 ultima weapons. The time and dedication it took to race/ breed the Chocobos to get the Gold Chocobos. All just to get the knights of the round summon. That wasn't even half of the work needed to pull off those boss fights.

That's one of the things I liked about FFXII, after beating the game, you could go find/kill some crazy-hard bosses: Omega, Zodiark, Hell Wyrm, Yiazmat!

 

I will say that the sephiroth fight was weak compared to the underwater weapon and the one in the desert. If you kicked off the knights of the round volly he went out like a bitch.
I hope they increase the difficulty!!

 

Yea the islands of heaven and hell were the best places to level the crystals.

 

Kinghts of the Round, Phoenix, Mimic materia X4, retarded hours spent leveling, my mother probably thought i had some disorder playing the same game for that many hours
