What do you think it's gonna be? 30 mpg highway? If 21/25 is in fact the EPA rating for a 4 wd V6, that's really good. Quite the improvement over the 2015 V6 4wd.

I'm not sure I would expect a little higher with the way they hyped it on release. I'm getting 21mpg on my baja. I'm driving it like I have no foot but still saving some money none the less. I think it would be safe to assume it should be closer to 30. Hell even the ram 1500 is making 30mpgs on the highway. I just can't see them hyping it up and saying you will be pleasantly surprised at the new numbers. Yes it's a gas engine and yes its a truck all we can do is wait.

I think it will be 25 +/- 1 mpg. Toyota Tacoma fans should be wise enough by now to not have high expectations. 25 puts them on par with the Colorado/Canyon gas V6. Toyota doesn't care about specs on their trucks. Never have.

and yea, 25 mpg would be stellar. Considering my 2002 new was rated at 190 hp 220 lb-ft at 18 mpg highway. That is more than a 33% increase in MPG and gobs more power.

Go to Motley Fool and read for yourself. I do not know how to copy link from article I read on laptop to phone. It was an article on new Ridgeline. It had MPG numbers for Frontier, Canyon, and Colorado. Tacoma better than Frontier and Canyon. DO you KNOW how to use Google?

Doesn't matter. But 25 out of the 2.7 by just adding another gear seems a little optimistic. I think it was rated at 21 before. 20% increase? I doubt it.

For once, I agree with Rock lobster. No numbers are out yet. And I want to remind all, this is no ordinary 2.7. You can't use traditional calculations.
