Whats with all the rubbing compound recommendations:confused: Rubbing compound is made to get trash and high spots out of paint and the finished would need to be machine polished. It can leave massive damage to a paints finish if used by a novice. My advise would be a cleaner wax like what was suggested in a earlier post. Just remember, rubbing compound removes layers of clear coat and then paint.

I think someone else suggested this too, but spray it with goo-gone and let it sit for a while. Come back with a microfiber towel or something soft and then rub the shit out of it with a good amount of pressure. If that doesn't work then some cleaner wax is probably your best bet.

I did the goo-gone/towel thing after debadging my truck last weekend and there was no outline, and my truck is a 2005 that sits outside every day.

I debadged my whole truck with a heat gun and a plastic putty knife, then used the 3M eraser wheel to get the adhesive off. I initially had the outline of the emblems that I thought would never come off but I just ran the areas over again firmly with the eraser wheel and re-wax and the outline was gone. The Eraser wheel is a little pricey at $35 but it took the adhesive off fast! Looks scary to apply to the paint but it does not eat through the clear coat even at high speeds and firm pressure. It even took off the gay factory pinstripes on both sides within 10 mins. Goo gone did not work for me because the adhesive was too thick, may work with thin layers with alot of elbow grease. Good luck to you.

I agree with Scott... try some cleaner wax. If the wax doesn't remove the outline/shadowing of the badges then take it to a detailer. A light machine polishing will make your truck look fantastic and will definitely remove the badge shadows.

Check out autopia.org forums. It's a detailing website with tons of info and you can also find a high quality detailer in your area.

40 grit followed with an SOS pad and acetone.

    JUST KIDDING!

I've never used the eraser wheel, but some friends have used it on very similar situations when debadging. Not much you can do about the faded paint though.

Just use some polish... like Meguiars SwirlX or, if that doesn't work, ScratchX.

Use a good RANDOM orbital like a Porter Cable 7424 or try it by hand first.

    It should fix your problem
