Have wanted a Tacoma for a long time. Imagine this work forced me to do it. I have a 2005 F150 and the gas is killing. Its the story I told my wife and I'm sticking to it. Any way picked up a 97 reg cab 2.7MT. AND I LOVE IT! Needs some work but so do I. 3in susp 3in body with 33x12.5x15 bckshot mudders. "Shot" being a key word. Goes Tuesday for some BF KOs 33x10.5x15 this time. 300 mile commute every week. Taking all comments and suggestions.

Full rebuild short of machine work, mean green motherfucker! Lime green block, hand-polished valve cover, and stickers! Too broke for real mods right now. Stonewall is my baby, but he's also a work truck.
Congrats! What are your plans for the Taco? Any mods planned yet?

Congrats!!! Love that body style! I had the same truck just an '03 with no lift and a slightly oversized set of Cooper a/t's (1 size above stock)!and my best days were 21 mpg.

Maybe we should start a pool predicting your mileage.

Good luck with that elusive 25mpg. ;)

I like the truck though, miss my old 95.5 regular cab.

Ok. So maybe 25mpg is way off, but I have the fun part covered big time.

Drove it to work this am. First time on the interstate with it. As far as I'm concerned it drove like a dream. I had my own expctations and they were exceded. New BFGs probably didn't hurt though.
