I've been around Toyotas quite a while, and like to think I'm a bit of an off-road enthusiast, and I've never heard of Elkas.

IMO, Kings all day. There's a reason most of the top race trucks use them.

    That would probably explain it.

Given what we have available here in the States, probably not much of a reason to import them.

I wouldn't base your opinion on how any of these shocks will ride solely based on spring rate.

They've been in the motorsports game for a while, and only jumped into the truck market a couple years ago I think. I originally heard about them from the snowmobile market. Might try a set on my (cough) 2nd gen.

All of the above will be fine, really. They're all rebuildable and reliable. Just pick what color you like.

I think I'm gonna reach out and see what they recommend. I'd really rather keep it under $1500 though.

I don't necessarily think that's a detractor. shocks are shocks. Look at Bilstein. the only kind of shock they don't make are for mountain bikes, lol (not really, but you know what I mean). All around, they do quite well for themselves.

I used to race MTBs, and managed a bike shop, too. First time I took my motorcycle's forks apart I was surprised how similar they are to MTBs. I don't know what I was expecting, though...

I think it's more about marketing and availability. I'm betting they are essentially identical to any of the other high end shocks out there (ADS, King, etc...). So when we already has several well established U.S. brands to choose from, it's pretty hard to stand out.
