Yeah don't get me wrong here, I've never said one thing about traction or performance. They were super grippy in slippery mud, rain etc., but the dang things just rode like shit on-road with the vibrations. Lacking control limits and quality control is my thought. Again, never had a brand new tire out of round in my life. Guess it could happen to any brand, but when tire shop say they consistently have issues with Goodyear I believe them.

I hear you. At least we agree on one thing, Goodyear has more issues than Michelin :p None of my buddies have had issues with Michelin LTXs on their trucks. And that's all they run, for that reason. My one buddy has gotten 80+ thousand miles out of three sets between his Tahoe and GMC 2500 without a single issue. Needless to say he swears by them.
Btw, is that yours in the pic?

I have the 4R TRD Pro wheels and I first put on A/T tires. They looked awesome, but my truck is a pavement only ride, and I everything i've read says that the LTX Defender M/S is the tire for me. I had them installed, and I don't think they look to bad.2G2A0692.jpg

You guys know these tires are all made cheap and in bulk!! (Cheaper rubber and components) on my 2013 tacoma it came with Dunlop grandtrek a 20, they were worthless no joke at 8000 miles I had 1/32 left completely worn to the nub....Goodyear are junk ass tires they never honor there warranty..... and guess who makes Dunlop (goodyear). I have Firestone destination at, they wear good and go good in the snow.... But holy he'll they have zero strength for nails screws and etc, never in my life have I seen a tire attract nails like this tire!! I am going to get a 2017 and I can't remember what brand comes on the sport but as soon as I leave the lot I am going to try to go to a tire shop and trade them out....I'll be damned if I will trust toyota to put a factory tire on and it me a civilian legit tire non cheap material tire..on them Dunlop's they have a different designated stock number different from civilian grandtrek.

+1 on the Michelin LTX M/S2
I have them on my 4runner and they are the best ride you can get for a light truck/SUV.

Im just going to take advantage of the stock Toyos and run them till the thread is no more. They run decent but they fell like balloons.

If there is nothing being done about a problem at the time of the repair. Then there probably isn't a warranty repair claim being submitted, thus Toyota doesn't know that you had a claim or concern. The paper work that needs to be submitted is a Tech support case. If the Tech isn't starting or submitting the concern. The engineers won't get the word that the problem is bagger than they initially thought.

Tech support case is being sent to Toyota that's what i was told. That's why the Tech told me to keep claiming the problem every time i come in for maintenance.

Just FYI make sure that the Tech is putting the Tech support case# in the repair text. That way when it come to contacting Toyota, if it ever comes to that you have documentation to support your claims

"When I picked up my truck at the stealership it had the following issues from the get-go:
    1. Tranny missing gears, slow to react, and slow to engage when shifting to drive." -
There’s a TSB out now for that, not ATF related.
The factory/supplier fills the transmission with the required amount for proper operation. Adding more capacity such as cooler, larger pan does increase capacity, but does nothing for requirement.
Requirement is determined by the engineers who measure the flow/amount going thru all the passages. In other words, there’s only so much that can flow at any given time (rate of flow) regardless of the capacity/quantity.
No matter how much capacity you add, if you overload the vehicle, it will overheat and cause damage.
The same happens to a clutch in a standard transmission. It’s all about the load, and the required amount is all that’s needed for the posted load limitation of the vehicle.
Your problem may have been going away on its own like some many others simply by establishing driving parameters as you drive.

    2. "Severe vibration in rear-end"-
Tire vibration or concerns are best handled by a tire shop, dealers are very poor at handling that for some reason.

    3. "Slight pull to the left"-
This can also be a tire problem, it’s called “radial pull”.
Alignment can compensate some, but it has its limitation. Beyond that, tire replacement is advised.

    4. "Squeaky leaf packs"-
As long as there are leaf springs, there will be some noises from time to time. Lube is your friend. My guess is automakers got tired of complains and went to coil springs. Both have their merits & short comings. It’s just the way things are. In other words, It will be back. But hopefully not constantly lolo!

    5. "Minor buzzing (not enough in mine to raise any fuss)" -
I would love to find out what’s causing that for some ppl.
My guess is that it’s got to do with acoustics at a certain rpm and load. Unless it can be replicated at will, it will be hard to find the culprit and nip it in the butt.
    Hope that helps
    Cheers!

@Floridahunter how did you get them to actually check the tranny levels. Within 200 miles of having mine I knew something wasn't exactly right so I took it in and they were basically laughing at me because I had researched and found online all over the low fluid concern. They spout off to me that Toyota has all the levels checked properly before shipping out trucks. They kept it for a few hours returning to me saying the levels were fine and no issues. Half of me believes they didn't do shit and just held onto it for a few hours.....Monday I go in to get the TSB, ecu flashed to help fix some of the tranny timing issues but concerned the levels might not be proper still....thoughts? Or ways to get them to be sure they looked?
