Finally got my taco!

It wasn't supposed to be here for another 3 weeks, but they had someone bail on the same specs as the one I had coming in. Now I have a place to put the small pile of stuff I've amassed waiting for it!

2018 off road, short bed, manual with the tech & premium package. This is my first truck and first Toyota. My initial impressions are it seems really well built, the controls are nicely laid out and I like the transmission. The manual is nice and smooth, really easy to drive. Already peeled off the hideous 4X4 stickers and V6 badge, when the rain stops I'll take the Tacoma badges off. Theres no better time to peel that stuff off than when it's new!

Gonna take it down to Pismo in a few weeks to visit my mom, then I have a trip to Tahoe planned in July with the kids. I'm a happy camper!

can you post some photos without the 4x4 stickers. curious of what it looks like. I also have a cement shortbed and keep thinking about doing it!

Sure, here you go. That v6 emblem is so out of place and the 4X4 decals were too much for me. I did hedge my bet on those though and picked up some less busy eBay solid black replacements that are simpler in case I want to add something there.

I always loved Pismo, I would go every other weekend when I was stationed at Vandenberg A.F.B. When they had the car shows right there on the beach was good times. Enjoy.

I ordered the same exact package, how long did you wait for it? I'm at 5 weeks since my order and i still don't have a build date

When i ordered my truck it was explained to me that they only build the Manuals once every 3 months, so depending when you got your order in will effect your wait time, took about 4 months to get my truck.

Sorry, I don’t really have an answer for you, I didn’t custom order it. My dealer gets tons of Tacoma’s and they press for manuals because they sell them like crazy. The truck I was supposed to get will be in their inventory in a week or two, same specs as this one. I think they have one on the lot right now, same specs but in a long bed. They had a Pro they offered me at sticker, but I didn’t want the Pro.
