My Tacoma has been at the dealership over 2 1/2 months getting a frame replacement due to an accident. One of the parts needed was a new rim. Finally picked up the truck this morning and when I got home I noticed this.................... the replacement rim is a different color! I mean seriously! In all of the time they had it not one single person noticed this??? LOL What a joke! Actually I like the gunmetal one better than the other 3 black rims

Gotta love the latest generation of mechanics.

"Who used the last of the TIG wire and didn't tell anyone?? Dang. Oh well. Hot glue will get it off the lot. I'll take a selfie of me hot-glueing the engine mounts to this frame! Guaranteed it'll go viral!"

Funny you say this, I worked at a VW dealer for 6 years I was in charge of the scan tools (tough book laptops) Every week we would have one with a broken screen, no note, no one told me, they just put them back on the rack. I had shop meetings with them and told them "this shit happens, I dont care if you broke it, your not in trouble, just please let me know when it happens so I can put the new screen in", but no, they still would try to hide it, not very well since the laptop logs the vin number that was last used on it, so I could track the tech that used it. They also liked to leave my welder empty of wire and not say anything (despite the note that says "tell parts to order more wire if its low")

Not sure what you're asking...... Yes they supplied a loaner Tacoma while mine was in the shop 2 /12 months free of charge. That I was thankful for. It was basically the identical extended cab, only it was a different color. The mismatched rims are on the repaired truck which I picked up this morning. Like Tacovrd said, I hope they took more care with the frame replacement. I did though find a 4" long bolt sitting on the floor behind the drivers seat LOL

I might also add, when they pulled the truck into the service area so I could transfer my stuff back into my truck, it was dripping wet!! I asked why my truck was soaked.... they replied quite proudly "we just took it through the car wash for ya" I told them to wipe it dry. Seriously! My truck should have been freakin' spotless when I picked it up. They knew I was coming up this morning. It just irritated the crap out of me. I told them "your loaner truck is fucking spotless! You could eat off the floor it's so clean....I expect mine to be the same. Might as well mention it was Joseph Toyota in Cincinnati.......

Sounds like they forgot to install cab body mount bolt. Better look under the truck and see if the cab is fully attached to the frame.

    Frame restoration! :annoyed:

BTDT and in the end, it cost me $1,500 when I went to trade it ('04 Tacoma DCSBTRDOR) in on a "new" 2015 Highlander! :spending:

Maybe they could not find a black rim on Ebay. Amazing what passes these days as good customer service but boy oh boy if you dont give them a perfect 10 on there scorecard they send you they hunt you down during your own funeral.
