I have no issues with "clunking" and I have two good sized dips on the way out of my neighborhood that I tend to roll through pretty quickly every time, whoop whoop, and I've done some speed testing over speed bumps as well just to be sure I don't hit anywhere. For real though I guess everyone gets slightly different results with their truck. I plan on eventually getting LR UCA's but right now I have no issues whatsoever other than a squeaky AAL on the passenger side that is starting to drive me crazy.

X2. I'm installing this exact lift this weekend (I hope - need one more part delivery). I really hope I can get this done with no major issues!

shit. there is a pretty long OME Setup thread under the Suspension subforum. Maybe re-post your questions there. That really sucks

EDIT: @mountainmonkey on the Colorado BS Thread figured this out for me. I installed the spring perches upside down like a dumb a**. Oh, well live and learn, its only blood, sweat, & tears.

    ________________________________________________________________

Ok, so not the post I was hoping to make. Finished the installation of a Deaver AAL, rear leafs off a 2014 Taco, Billy 5100's, and OME885 coils. Got it down on the ground, torqued all the suspension bolts, stepped back to review my handiwork and thought, damn, that front end looks higher than balls on a giraffe! Sure enough here are my before and after center-of-hub to fender measurements:

    LR: 21-5/8" 23-7/8" 2-1/4" Lift
    RR: 21-5/8" 24-1/4" 2-5/8" Lift
    LF: 20-1/4" 25-1/4" 4.5" Lift
    RF: 20-1/4" 25-3/4" 5.5" Lift

Awe crud. Way to much up front.

Full disclosure: I got the OME885's off a member on TW and they are 885X's per the tag on the coils. Previous seller said they had 20K on them. As I understand it the 885X designation came about when OME started using different steel to prevent sagging over time but the specs of an 885X would be the same as the current 885 offering. Need to verify this.

So, did I screw up on the install?

Does an 885X provide ~ 5" of lift?

    Did I get a mis-labeled set of coils? Did I get 886's?

Don't know but I gotta figure it out.

My truck is a stock 2011 TRD PRO; no armor, skids, or anything else. As far as the ride goes, rear is perfect. Love it. The front drives like a dump truck. No, clangs, bangs, or noises, but it's just so stiff that it feels like I need snow plow on the front of it to get the springs to compress even a little bit. I was expecting a stiff ride, but not honeymoon night stiff. I've got what feels like CV vibrations starting at about 55 mph on up - I could only wonder why, my UCA's are at a 45* angle!!

Thoughts? Questions? Suggestions? Any input would be appreciated. Oh, the 5100's were set on the lowest setting, I triple checked that before I installed them.

That will do it man, happens more often than none believe it or not. Hopefully once you fix it you can actually enjoy the look and feel of this setup. Let us know how it goes.

Finished the lift last week and got my tires this morning.

    stock UCAs
OME 885/5100 up front, Headstrong lean spacer
    Deaver single AAL/5100 rear
    17x9 -6 4.75 backspace
    275/70/17 KO2s

tires clear the spindles and UCAs, slight rubbing at full lock. Just put them on this morning so havent checked to see where yet - I suspect the mud flaps

EDIT: went outside to check and its rubbing the small front flaps attached to the bumper. Ill just take those off.

Rides perfectly fine and aligned within spec on stock UCAs. People told me it would ride better with after-market UCAS but I have no complaints so far.

Not the case.....I'm on 885X's, stock UCA's, and 5100's. No "clunk". I had mine flexed from one extreme to the other multiple times yesterday. Not a single noise.....other than my receiver hitch pounding down on a rock ledge.... Also I've been known to blast a series of speed bumps leaving work! Never a clunk there either. Just stares from the security guards......

Every case I know of personally, where the dreaded "clunk" happens are with OME shocks.....and it's the SHOCK topping out (running out of travel) that makes the noise

You mentioned in your comment you're running the 885x coils, assuming they're by OME as well, but you're not the getting the "clunk" noise when hitting a bump right? I'm asking because I've been running 885x coils with bilsteins 5100s all around, and now recently i've been experiencing the clunk when I hit a dip or bump. Am I right to say it's the stock UCA's thats hitting the coils?

I have the same setup, and haven't heard any clunking yet. Jack up your front end and see if the uca is hitting the coil. Every truck is different.

Got my spring perches flipped around Monday night. Now going to drive it for a few days, let settle in a bit, re-torque and take measurements. I'll post those with before and after pics this weekend. Love the ride of this suspension. Rides like a truck and has stability. :D Not mushy like the worn out stock stuff.

No major noises from the suspension itself but I've got more drive line vibrations than a Melissa Etheridge concert after party. :annoyed: That was to be expected though so I will start sorting those out this weekend too.

Good looking truck man! Those tires fit well, Hopefully you won't have anymore rubbing after removing those mud flaps. Post some more pics when you get a chance.
Can't wait for the pics man! Glad you're finally able to enjoy the ride and you're right, it drives like a truck should! A few things could be causing the vibrations, maybe alignment or driveshaft angle? Have you done any of that yet? I actually had a vibe before the lift, and after I installed it and threw on that driveshaft spacer I have zero vibes, I love it. Drives so smooth. Vibrations can get annoying so once everything settles try to single out where it's coming from.
